(Chinhphu.vn) - On April 9, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) on the T-09 program and Viettel's high-tech defense industry research and production activities.

At the meeting, Chairman and General Director of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, Major General Tao Duc Thang reported on the implementation results of the T-09 program and a number of key tasks assigned by the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense in the past time to enhance the country's defense potential.

Specifically, Viettel has mastered system design, system integration and core technologies of high-tech defense products, successfully produced and delivered a number of strategic products for military equipment.

Achieving positive results in the T-09 program, Viettel has received direct instructions and guidance from the Prime Minister, the Minister of National Defense, and the Chief of the General Staff.

Agencies and units within the Ministry of National Defense have effectively coordinated, coordinated, guided and supported Viettel Group in implementing specific tasks such as building technical and tactical features, investing, purchasing, evaluating and accepting products. Ministries, departments and branches have also participated and supported the Ministry of National Defense in forming breakthrough policy mechanisms.

The Prime Minister emphasized that under the leadership, direction, regular and direct of the Politburo, the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; the management and administration of the Government, the Prime Minister and the command and direct implementation of the Central Military Commission and the Minister of National Defense, Vietnam has achieved many achievements in developing the high-tech defense industry.

After one year since his visit and work at the Group in 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commented that Viettel Group has 5 advantages: More experience, more confidence, more professionalism, better products, and better quality of high-quality human resources.

Products researched and developed by Viettel, especially strategic products, have been and will contribute to creating the foundation for building a proactive, self-reliant, dual-purpose, and modern Vietnamese defense industry; promoting internal strength as the decisive factor; closely connecting and becoming the spearhead of national industry.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of National Defense and relevant units to continue directing and promoting total strength to boost the development of the defense industry with sufficient strength to effectively serve the country's revolutionary goals and tasks in the new period.
