On the morning of May 28, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister and the Government delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of the renovation and upgrading project of the Provincial Museum. The project to renovate and upgrade the Provincial Museum was started in December 2020 on a total planning area of 4,100m2 , with a total investment of over 106 billion VND. After more than 2 years of construction, with the determination of the entire political system and the efforts of the investor, contractor, supervisory unit and construction force, the project was completed on schedule and according to the plan, ensuring high requirements on traditional architecture, techniques, fine arts and cultural and historical values.
After being renovated and upgraded, the project will become a prominent and attractive destination, both imbued with a unique and distinctive identity and the breath of the times. The museum space includes 1 reception room and 5 exhibition spaces according to a scenario built based on the timeline, including: Ha Giang residents through history; protecting the Fatherland and border security; diverse culture; three ecological regions and building a new life; interior and exterior decoration design according to the principles of modern museum studies, applying digital technology to create visual and vivid effects, aiming at an impressive and profound experience for visitors. This is a cultural and historical project of special significance, contributing to preserving, conserving, promoting and developing the cultural and historical values of the people of all ethnic groups in Ha Giang.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: The Party and State consistently hold the viewpoint of developing culture on par with politics and society; preserving and promoting cultural values to contribute to protecting national security; promoting national identity, developing in a scientific and popular manner.
The Prime Minister shared the difficulties with Ha Giang, a locality that suffered many disadvantages, especially the war to protect the northern border that lasted for 10 years. At the same time, he said: Ha Giang has gone in the right direction in preserving and promoting cultural values; the inauguration of the provincial museum has contributed to the development of the cultural industry as determined by our Party.
The project not only has the meaning of educating traditions and preserving historical values, but also needs to be professional, creating material wealth through commercialization and being consistent with national cultural identity. The Prime Minister suggested that Ha Giang continue to promote, collect, and organize exhibitions for organizations, individuals, and tourists from all over the world to visit; focusing on developing culture in a comprehensive, inclusive, and effective manner.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son stated: Ha Giang is a land with a long history, rich in cultural traditions, associated with important historical stages of the country, has an important geopolitical position, is the fence of the Fatherland. For the Provincial Museum to operate effectively, it is not only a place to welcome, promote, meet the needs of visitors to visit and experience but also serve the task of educating traditions for generations, nurturing, arousing love, pride for the homeland and country.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Ha Giang city and all levels and sectors to proactively and synchronously deploy tasks and solutions to organize a variety of activities, events and services; continue to collect artifacts, organize thematic exhibitions and cultural events; increase experiential activities to make the provincial museum truly lively, attractive and appealing. Strengthen the connection between the museum and schools, organize groups of students to study and participate in experiences at the museum. Build a walking route connecting the Provincial Museum to Km0, Square 26.3, the dam, tourist attractions... to create tourism products for visitors stopping in Ha Giang city. Strengthen promotional activities, introduce images and activities of the Museum on digital technology platforms; make the Provincial Museum a red address for promoting, introducing images, spreading unique cultural and historical values of the province.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province hopes to continue receiving the attention of the Prime Minister for the development of the province in general and the work of preserving and promoting the cultural values of Ha Giang in particular. He requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ministries and central branches to continue to pay attention and help Ha Giang effectively carry out the work of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of ethnic communities; pay attention to providing professional guidance so that the Provincial Museum can continue to improve its display work, ensuring that it is a place to preserve the cultural values of Ha Giang and an attractive tourist destination for domestic and international visitors; pay attention to supporting the province to build and develop the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark with a solid position in the UNESCO-recognized Global Geopark network.
