Da Nang City determined to strive for growth of over 10% by 2025, with budget revenue increasing over 15%.
During his visit to the Central region, on the evening of February 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working session with leaders of Da Nang city on removing difficulties, promoting the implementation of programs and projects, striving to achieve double-digit growth in 2025.
Attending the meeting were: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh; Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang; leaders of central ministries, branches and Da Nang city.
According to Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, before the policy of the Central and Government, from the end of 2024, Da Nang determined that in 2025 it would strive for growth of over 10%, with budget revenue increasing over 15%.
To achieve the above goal, Da Nang city focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles and promoting the implementation of large projects with a total investment capital of over 150,000 billion VND, such as: Lang Van Project, Asia Park Complex, works and projects of FPT Group, Viettel, high-end resort projects...
Along with that, Da Nang is focusing on removing obstacles and difficulties to put many of the 1,340 projects under Resolution No. 170/2024/QH15 on special mechanisms to remove difficulties and obstacles related to land projects... into investment.
Implementing specific mechanisms and policies, the city has completed the dossier to request the Prime Minister to issue a Decision to establish a Free Trade Zone; build a regional financial center in Da Nang.
The city also urgently completed the shared infrastructure of Lien Chieu Port; proactively and actively implemented with higher goals than Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; actively mobilized social resources to innovate and improve the quality of tourism products and services; removed difficulties to deploy international-class resort complexes, creating a new look to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
Da Nang proposed that the Prime Minister and ministries and branches support the city's proposals to promptly and effectively implement the above-mentioned projects and programs so that Da Nang can achieve a growth rate of over 10% in 2025, joining the whole country in entering a new era with a double-digit growth rate.
After the leaders of ministries and branches gave their opinions and answered the recommendations of Da Nang city, concluding the working session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the city to urgently complete in February 2025 the arrangement of the organizational apparatus according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW, in conjunction with party congresses at all levels, towards the City Party Congress; actively and effectively implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution 57 in conjunction with Project 06; develop plans and scenarios for double-digit growth for each district, department, branch, and enterprise; urgently complete the site clearance for the Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway.
Welcoming Da Nang city for proactively removing difficulties and obstacles for projects according to Resolution No. 170 of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister stated that the Government Party Committee and the National Assembly Party Committee recently met and agreed to resolve issues, including Da Nang's issue; requested Da Nang city to discuss with the Ministry of National Defense to handle a number of issues related to defense land area, in the spirit of both serving socio-economic development and ensuring security and defense.
The Prime Minister welcomed the city's proposal of a number of special and outstanding mechanisms and policies in investing in the construction of the Free Trade Zone and the Regional Financial Center in Da Nang; noted that the spirit is not perfectionism, not haste, but the city needs to propose appropriate mechanisms and policies, must be implemented quickly, and must value time, intelligence and decisiveness; strive to submit to ministries and branches in February, to the Government in March, and to the National Assembly in May.
The Prime Minister directed the city to have guidelines to select investors worthy of Da Nang's stature; build a strict, public, transparent, and legal process to invest in the construction of Lien Chieu port; establish a city innovation center to contribute to promoting growth, training human resources, developing and attracting talent.
The Prime Minister noted that the planning of the LNG Thermal Power Plant must contribute to ensuring electricity for the region; calculate appropriately for the situation, especially in the near future when the Blue Whale mine will be exploited; balance with the provinces that are still facing difficulties...; re-emphasize the viewpoint of developing Chu Lai airport into an international airport, level 4F because it has more conditions for expansion and upgrading than the current Da Nang airport.
