(Baoquangngai.vn)- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the achievements of Hoa Phat after 8 years of investment in Quang Ngai; at the same time, he highly appreciated the companionship and support of Quang Ngai provincial authorities at all levels to help Hoa Phat's project to be implemented smoothly.
On the evening of February 9, during his working program in Quang Ngai, Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Government delegation visited and worked with Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company.
Also accompanying the leaders of Quang Ngai province were Central Party Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group Tran Dinh Long said that Hoa Phat has invested 7 billion USD in Quang Ngai in Dung Quat Economic Zone. The focus is on the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex and Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex projects, with a total investment of more than 171 trillion VND.
“With its current capacity, the Group is focusing on producing high-quality steel, contributing to replacing imported goods. Hoa Phat is confident in its capacity to research and produce railway steel, steel for making train and high-speed train axles according to orders from the Prime Minister as well as high-quality steel for key national projects and exporting to the world,” emphasized Chairman of the Board of Directors Tran Dinh Long.

From 2017 to 2024, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel has contributed nearly 35 trillion VND to the State budget. Hoa Phat's projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone create jobs for about 17,000 direct workers, of which local workers account for more than 80% and tens of thousands of workers of Hoa Phat's contractors and partners.
In addition, Hoa Phat also actively implements social security in Quang Ngai. Responding to the Government's Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Group has supported the construction of more than 1,500 houses for the poor across the country. Quang Ngai alone is 30 billion VND, equivalent to 600 houses. In addition, the Group also carries out many other activities such as sponsoring school construction, supporting orphans, heart surgery for poor children, giving Tet gifts to the poor, etc.

Currently, Hoa Phat prioritizes the completion and operation of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project to ensure stability and continue to invest in developing deep processing of high-quality steel products in Dung Quat Economic Zone, aiming to be self-sufficient in production to serve key national projects, in which priority is given to serving the investment project to build a high-speed railway on the North-South axis in the period of 2026 - 2030.
When the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex Project is completed by the end of 2025, the Group's steel production capacity will reach 15 million tons/year, expected to put Hoa Phat in the Top 30 largest steel enterprises in the world.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group Tran Dinh Long said that Hoa Phat is currently the number 1 steel producer in Vietnam, equivalent to the Top 50 largest steel enterprises in the world. The Group has exported steel to 40 countries and territories.

The Prime Minister requested Hoa Phat to continue researching and producing high-quality steel, especially steel rails for the North-South high-speed railway and urban railways in the coming time.
Quang Ngai province is interested in allocating land funds for Hoa Phat projects. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment perform State management tasks to ensure compliance with Party and State regulations, ensuring an open, transparent and healthy competitive environment.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wished Hoa Phat Group to achieve higher growth in 2025 than in 2024 and from 15% or more, contributing to Vietnam's double-digit GDP growth target in the coming years, working with the whole country to achieve double-digit growth, preparing to enter a new era of civilized, rich, prosperous development, with people increasingly well-off and happy.
