The collision occurred in the 35th minute of the match between Nam Dinh Club and Hanoi Police Club on December 9, when the ball went out of bounds, while going to get the ball right in front of the away team's technical area, player Tran Van Kien collided with Coach Gong Oh Kyun of Hanoi Police Club.
Tensions escalated when coach Gong Oh Kyun responded excessively. Afterwards, the strategist accused Van Kien of hitting him in the chest.
Although the incident did not have serious consequences, the collision and reaction between player Tran Van Kien and coach Gong Oh Kyun left an unsightly image, affecting the overall image of the tournament.
Coach Gong Oh Kyun got into a fight with Nam Dinh player Van Kien.
On the morning of December 13, the VFF Disciplinary Board issued a series of disciplinary decisions in round 5 of Night Wolf V-League 2023 but ignored the scuffle at Thien Truong Stadium.
It should be reiterated that VPF Company previously sent a document to the VFF Disciplinary Board, requesting consideration of appropriate disciplinary action because the actions of Coach Gong and Van Kien seriously affected the image of the tournament.
With the hope that these ugly behaviors will not be repeated in the next rounds of the 2023-24 season, the tournament's Organizing Committee has sent documents to Hanoi Police Club and Nam Dinh Club requesting strict reminders to avoid repeating violations that affect the overall image of the Club and the tournament.
"V-League 2023-24 has gone through 5 rounds, the increased competition and intensity has brought about excitement, however, the appearance of excessive reactions and offensive behavior needs to be promptly prevented and not allowed to recur.
Strict penalties and timely reminders are necessary to promptly stop and prevent the spread of ugly images right from the initial stage," the Organizing Committee's document stated.
