The Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has just held a conference to contribute comments on the draft political report to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress and the draft political report of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, term XVII, 2020-2025.

Commenting on the documents of the 14th National Party Congress, delegates said that the contents of the documents fully reflected the Party's leadership in all areas and had many new points. The draft report sets out tasks and solutions to promote innovation and international integration; remove bottlenecks, promote sustainable development; issues on building standards for Vietnamese people, and strengthening Party building.

In addition, many delegates said that it is necessary to clarify the work of preventing corruption; promote the role of the private economy in national development. It is recommended to strictly control the allocation of public investment projects; strengthen the management of public assets after mergers; strictly handle major cases...

Regarding the viewpoints and goals of building and developing the country in the new period; the content of 13 orientations for national development in the period of 2026 - 2030, in which it is necessary to identify external risks affecting the socio-economic development situation, national security and defense; consider deciding on the scenario of the country's economic growth of over 10%; promote start-ups; exploit the domestic market; pay attention to the quality of the team of cadres and civil servants at the commune level.

Review and rebuild national, sectoral, regional and inter-regional planning, especially provincial planning, to be consistent with the re-demarcation of new provincial administrative units. Pay attention to job creation, especially in the context of strong development of science and technology, artificial intelligence, digitalization, etc. Measures are needed to overcome the consequences of population aging. Research and learn from the "silver-haired economy" models of some countries in the world, etc.

Commenting on the documents of the Provincial Party Congress, delegates basically agreed with the draft report. There were comments on the title of the draft that needed to be supplemented to suit the new administrative unit.

Hai Duong is expected to merge with Hai Phong City. Therefore, in the report of the Provincial Party Congress documents, it is necessary to clearly identify the favorable and difficult factors that will affect the merger; effectively exploit industrial zones in Hai Duong province; promote historical factors; develop tourism in Hai Duong area; handle public works after the merger; pay attention to developing craft villages, protecting the environment; and develop clean agriculture.

Some delegates said that it is necessary to clearly define the goal of building the new city into a dynamic marine economic center, harmoniously combining the development of high-tech industry, logistics services, tourism and marine economy. There needs to be a master plan and long-term vision for the development of the new city, ensuring connectivity between existing areas of Hai Duong and Hai Phong, focusing on developing transport infrastructure, green and smart urban areas and responding to climate change.

Delegates said that it is necessary to link and restructure key economic sectors, strongly develop the marine economy; build a favorable investment and business environment... It is necessary to focus on preserving and promoting unique cultural values, and improving the quality of human resources.
