Pepper prices today, February 13, 2025, in the domestic market increased sharply in key localities, trading from 160,500 - 164,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 162,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (160,500 VND/kg); Dak Lak (164,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (163,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (161,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (162,000 VND/kg).

Thus, pepper prices continued to increase today in key growing areas, with a sharp increase of 3,000 - 4,500 VND/kg. The highest pepper price reached 164,000 VND/kg.

Commenting on the market, Ptexim's latest report said that demand from the Chinese market to India is quite good. Other markets such as the US and the European Union (EU) are also participating in purchasing black pepper with both long-distance and immediate orders.

The harvest continues to progress very slowly due to labor shortages and climate change. Many farmers and dealers expect pepper prices to continue their upward trend. Many households that have sold coffee and durian are continuing to buy pepper to stock up in anticipation of higher prices in 2025.

Pepper prices in Vietnam's domestic market increased by 7.14% in the first week of February, according to reports.

Thanh Nien Newspaper reported that in the Central Highlands provinces, when the coffee crop just ended right after the Tet holiday, people are preparing to start harvesting pepper.

According to Mr. Phan Minh Thong - Chairman of Phuc Sinh Group, who is known as the "king of Vietnamese pepper": Pepper prices have skyrocketed due to high consumption demand while our supply and inventory are limited. Meanwhile, the harvest season is delayed by about 1 month compared to usual due to weather changes. Those are the main features of the Vietnamese and world pepper markets in the past few days.

In the world market, at the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,251 USD/ton, down 0.19%; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 6,700 USD/ton; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,000 USD/ton.

Muntok white pepper price is 10,010 USD/ton, down 0.18%; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 11,600 USD/ton.

Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,650 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,550 USD/ton.

The International Pepper Community said that the market in the first week of February showed mixed reactions when only domestic white pepper prices in Malaysia recorded a decrease.
