Tam Dao Town kicks off new tourist season

Rhododendron garden creates a highlight, increasing the attraction of tourism in Tam Dao town.

The number of tourists to Tam Dao town in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at more than 77,600, reaching 20.4% of the annual plan, of which, overnight guests are more than 41,200, up 93% over the same period in 2024; foreign visitors are 1,204, up 106% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue is estimated at more than 52 billion VND, reaching 15.4% of the plan, up 5.5% over the same period in 2024.

In the context of economic difficulties, the psychology of saving money due to economic recession and inflation has affected the majority of people, the number of visitors to the town has decreased compared to the same period in 2024.

However, looking at the overall picture of the town’s tourism development in 2025, there are positive signs, with tourism revenue tending to increase despite the lower number of visitors. This shows that the town’s effective exploitation of tourism has changed, promising to create new added values.

The April 30 - May 1 holiday this year is considered to be the time to mark the beginning of a year of tourism in the town, because the long holidays will attract a large number of tourists, especially tourists from the Hanoi capital area - a place only nearly 2 hours away from Tam Dao town, convenient and synchronous transportation, the town's tourism products bring experiences like in Da Lat, Sa Pa in a vacation period of 1 - 2 days, suitable for many tourist segments.

To increase the attraction to tourists, creating momentum for the tourism industry to accelerate right at the beginning of the season, Tam Dao town has mobilized all resources and the cooperation of travel businesses, accommodation and food service establishments, and event organizers in the town to build a beautiful image of the tourist area. A notable highlight is that the events organized have created new "files" of customers for Tam Dao town.

During 2 days (February 22-23), Vietnam MTB SERIES Joint Stock Company coordinated with the town government to organize the Tam Dao City Trail 2025 Race, attracting thousands of athletes to participate.

By the end of March, Prime Trading and Import-Export Company Limited cooperated with Creative Solutions Consulting Company Limited to organize the event “Fun Fest Paradise” at Tam Dao Town Central Park with 180 distributors from 13 geographical areas, provinces and cities across the country. The free event activities have been creating the perfect springboard for the growth of Tam Dao tourism industry in 2025.

Public areas are decorated with colorful azaleas, creating check-in points for visitors to Tam Dao town.

Make an impression with uniqueness

Since the Rhododendron Flower Festival was held for the first time in 2024, Tam Dao has made a strong impression on many tourists, especially young people. Every time the seasons change from Spring to Summer, the feeling of being immersed in the majestic nature of Tam Dao mountains and forests, lost in the rhododendron forest, urges tourists to return to the town.

In 2024, Tam Dao town achieved new records in attracting tourists, with more than 500 thousand visitors to the town, of which the number of international visitors increased dramatically compared to the previous period.

This is a worthy achievement for the efforts of the government and people of Tam Dao town in building the image of the Tam Dao mountain town tourist area and new ways of doing tourism that are more attractive, more systematic, and more professional.

Chairman of Tam Dao Town People's Committee Nguyen Duy Dung said: Upgrading tourism in Tam Dao Town is difficult, requiring many resources and time. However, to achieve the set growth target, the town will try to build many new tourism products, suitable to actual conditions, creating unique features to impress visitors.

Taking advantage of those advantages, diversifying tourism products to develop product chains of a connected nature to meet the increasing needs of tourists, developing products that are typical local products and souvenirs to serve tourists, especially music tourism, spiritual tourism, products that have been developing strongly in recent years.

In particular, during the peak holiday season of April 30 - May 1 and Summer 2025, the town continues to direct and mobilize people to develop the economy and comply with local laws and regulations, and prepare well to welcome tourists.

Ensuring security and order, food safety and hygiene, strengthening state management in all fields associated with quickly and thoroughly resolving pressing issues in the area, protecting the rights of tourists coming to the town.

To increase the attraction to domestic and international tourists, the town People's Committee proposed that the province soon invest and implement tourism projects in the town such as Uncle Ho's house relic, entertainment areas, bus stations, sightseeing spots... to meet the increasing demand of tourists.
