Variety of models
In Thuy Xuan ward, Thuan Hoa district, with its mountainous terrain, some roads that used to be shabby and littered with garbage now have a new look with the brilliant colors of ancient Hue roses on both sides, thanks to the joint efforts of the local Front - Mass Organizations. The program "Bright - green - clean - beautiful roads" does not only stop at launching and planting flowers but also establishes a mechanism to monitor and maintain the effectiveness of care work. Every week, members come out to clean up the alleys, expand the planting of ancient Hue roses on the roads; propagate and mobilize people to change the habit of littering.
“We do not just stop at calling for help but also build a self-management mechanism, assigning each group of women and union members the responsibility of monitoring. When people’s awareness changes, they voluntarily participate in environmental protection without needing to be reminded,” said Ms. Doan Thi My Hanh, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Thuy Xuan Ward.
According to Ms. Ngo Thi Anh Tuyet, Permanent Vice President of the City Women's Union, in addition to joining hands to protect the environment, women's unions at all levels have also implemented the models "Women live green", "Turning trash into money" ... to raise funds for poor children and lonely elderly people. "From the collected plastic bottles and scrap paper, our members have recycled them into useful items or sold them to raise funds, helping many members in difficult circumstances to improve their lives," Ms. Tuyet said.
Notably, many organizations have boldly applied digital technology to implement emulation movements. The Hue City Youth Union has developed a digital platform called “Youth Union” on the Hue-S application, helping to connect volunteer activities and supporting more than 2,500 union members to guide people in carrying out administrative procedures via VNeID.
“We want the Youth Union to not only be a place to launch movements but also a bridge to help young people access technology and proactively participate in the city's digital transformation process,” said Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Secretary of the Hue City Youth Union.
Also in the trend of applying technology, the Hue City Farmers' Association has supported more than 2,700 farming households to access e-commerce platforms, organizing 9 production linkage models according to the value chain, helping to increase the value of local agricultural products.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung, a farmer in Phu Vang district, shared: “Previously, I only sold goods through the market, but thanks to the support of the Farmers' Association, I brought my products to the e-commerce platform. Revenue doubled, and the market expanded a lot.”
Closely follow the real needs of the people
From effective models at the grassroots level, the emulation movement has spread throughout Hue City. Over the past year, the entire emulation bloc of the Front - Mass Organizations has mobilized more than 36.6 billion VND to support people in disaster areas, built and repaired nearly 12,000 houses for the poor, and launched a series of social security programs.
The “Green Sunday” program continues to attract tens of thousands of members, creating positive changes in the community. The environmental protection movement is no longer a short-term campaign but has become a daily habit of the people. The models of “No straw burning”, “Garbage-free residential groups”, “Youth tree rows” are widely replicated, helping to create a clean and sustainable living environment.
Mr. Tran Van Lap, Vice Chairman of the City Farmers' Association, said: In 2024, the City Farmers' Association is honored to be the Head of the emulation bloc of the Front - Mass Organizations. The highlight of the emulation movement of the bloc is the close coordination between organizations. If in the past each unit implemented the movement separately, now there is a connection to improve efficiency. Typically, the combination between the Youth Union, the Women's Union and the Farmers' Association in environmental protection activities, or the Veterans' Association and the Fatherland Front in supporting housing for the poor. In 2025, the emulation movement of the Front - Mass Organizations will continue to be associated with sustainable development goals, promoting digital transformation, administrative reform, environmental protection and improving the quality of life for people.
According to Mr. Doan Trong Minh, Deputy Head of the Emulation and Rewards Committee of Hue City, over the past year, the emulation movement of the Front - Mass Organizations has changed significantly, becoming more practical, closely following the actual needs of the people. In particular, the application of digital transformation helps activities spread faster and more effectively. "Emulation is not only for rewards but must truly create value for the community. When each citizen, each cadre, union member, and association member clearly sees the benefits of the movements and voluntarily participates, that is true success," Mr. Doan Trong Minh emphasized.
