The Flash is a key part of Warner Bros' summer box office push, as it also begins a reboot of the "DC Universe" under new co-president James Gunn.
Ezra Miller plays Barry Allen - a superhero named Flash, who uses his super speed to travel back in time to try to prevent his mother's death. Miller plays his younger self throughout the film.

The Flash is stuck in the past with Supergirl played by Sasha Calle and Batman portrayed by Michael Keaton.
The film's premiere was pushed back due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as Ezra Miller's mental health struggles and 2022 arrests, including second-degree assault and burglary.
Miller did not speak to the press to promote the film but made his first public appearance in nearly two years at the premiere of The Flash on June 12 along with other actors.
"It was a really beautiful moment for me," Miller told Warner Bros. representatives at the film's premiere. "It was great to see everyone and have a moment to celebrate this film, which, as you can see, has been a journey."
Ben Affleck plays Batman in some scenes, telling Warner Bros that it's "cool" to play Batman because it can inspire younger characters.
Calle, the only actor in the film who spoke to Reuters, also said little about Miller's role.
Asked how audiences should approach the film in light of Miller's controversy, she said the film was "beautiful," made with thousands of people putting their hearts into it.
The speedster tale is getting mixed reviews, currently holding a 72% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
"Much of the previous coverage has focused on Ezra Miller's string of controversies and legal troubles," says David Rooney of the Hollywood Reporter . "But the troubled star turns out to be the film's 'main asset,' bringing humor, heart and vulnerability not often seen in big-screen superheroes."
Some estimates predict The Flash's release will earn $70-75 million in its opening weekend, less than recent blockbusters like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which brought in $120.5 million in its first three days in theaters, second only to the $146 million that The Super Mario Bros. earned in its opening weekend.
Scene from The Flash
Ezra Miller brings chaos to the new superhero film from the "DC Universe" as Barry Allen, gifted with super speed and part of the Justice League. Barry fights to help his father escape the murder of his mother. But despite some twists and turns, Miller's smirking, giggling doppelganger performance is experimental and underwhelming, like the rest of the film.
The blockbuster released by Warner Bros. cost up to 220 million USD to produce and did not bring new ideas or original thinking. It is clear that the exploitation of intellectual property about superheroes between Marvel and DC is increasingly exhausted.
The Flash is released on June 14 in the UK, June 15 in Australia, June 16 in the US and Vietnam.
