The Government Inspectorate will randomly verify the assets and incomes of 56 officials working at six ministries and three state-owned corporations.
According to the decision just signed by Deputy Inspector General of the Government Bui Ngoc Lam, the individuals whose assets and incomes were verified this time include: two Government Inspectorate officials; four officials of the Ministry of Information and Communications; five officials of the Ministry of Transport; 12 officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; 16 people from the Ministry of Education and Training; 10 people from the State Bank; 2 people from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group; 2 people from the Vietnam Electricity Group; 3 people from the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group.
These officials were randomly selected by lottery to verify their assets and income in 2023. In the 6 ministries, there are many directors, department heads; general directors, directors of affiliated companies; institute directors; principals, chairmen of school boards; directors of State Bank branches.
At three state-owned corporations, those whose assets were verified included the general director, deputy general director, members of the board of members, and chief accountant.
The verification team, led by Mr. Hoang Thai Duong, Director of the Department of Anti-Corruption and Negative Practices, carried out the verification within 45 days.
The verification content is the honesty, completeness, and clarity of the first declaration of assets and income made according to the 2018 Anti-Corruption Law and the declarations of assets and income as of December 31, 2022. The honesty in explaining the origin of assets and additional income is also clarified.
The 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption stipulates that people who are obliged to declare their assets and income include: Officials, civil servants; police officers, military officers, professional soldiers; deputy heads of departments and above at public service units and state-owned enterprises; candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels.
Declared assets and income include: Land use rights, houses, construction works and other assets attached to land, houses, construction works; precious metals, gemstones, money, valuable papers and other real estate, each asset worth from 50 million VND; assets and accounts abroad.
The Government Inspectorate is authorized to control the assets and income of those with position allowances of 0.9 or higher who are working at Government agencies; heads and deputies of organizations established or approved by the Government or the Prime Minister; heads and deputies as well as members of the leadership structures of state-owned enterprises...
Those who are obliged to declare but do not truthfully declare or explain the origin of their assets and income will be handled according to the nature and extent. Those who are obliged to declare but disperse or conceal assets, obstruct control activities or fail to submit declarations after being urged in writing twice will be warned, have their salary reduced, be demoted, dismissed, dismissed, forced to quit, have their military rank or rank reduced, depending on the severity of the violation.
