Lao Cai City Women's Union disseminates gender equality knowledge to people of Hop Thanh commune.

Specifically, 6 community communication teams were established in 3 communes: Hop Thanh, Ta Phoi, Thong Nhat with 60 members participating; 15 propaganda and education sessions on child care and protection, food hygiene and safety, summer disease prevention... attracted nearly 1,000 participants; maintained the model "Community Trusted Address" to support the protection of women and children who are victims of domestic violence; conducted 8 propaganda sessions on the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention, the Law on Child Care and Education with 1,859 members and women attending; supported 10 breeding pigs for 10 households in Nam Ria village, Hop Thanh commune to develop family economy...

In addition, organize 2 propaganda sessions, mobilize and guide members and women to participate in community activities, such as: people's meetings, contact with voters of elected representatives in the area, contribute ideas to build the political system.

To continue effectively implementing the contents and targets of Project 8 in 2024, Lao Cai City Women's Union at all levels will focus on promoting communication activities, mobilizing to change thinking and working methods, eliminating gender stereotypes in families and communities; organizing contests to learn about the Law on Gender Equality and the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence among community communication teams; policy dialogues in particularly difficult hamlets and villages, in which appropriate and practical dialogue content is selected, solving the issues that are arising, pressing issues and difficulties of women; organizing communication campaigns to eliminate gender stereotypes and stereotypes, aiming to build a safe living environment for women and children in ethnic minority areas.
