On May 18, FAT held an urgent meeting and decided to establish an investigation committee to find out the truth about the clash between players and coaching staff of U22 Thailand and U22 Indonesia in the men's football final of the 32nd SEA Games.

“That brawl will tarnish the image of Thai football and cause a lot of damage to FAT.

Therefore, the investigation committee needs to find the truth, invite witnesses, collect evidence to give a conclusion to FAT within 15 days. From there, the committee also proposes solutions and measures to handle the situation," FAT said.

According to the investigation committee, the head of the investigation committee is police lieutenant general Amnuay Nimmano. This is also not the first time he has done this task.

In 2022, Thai football was in turmoil when the assistant of the female head of the delegation, Madam Pang, was accused of sexually harassing many players of the U22 Thailand team.

At that time, Lieutenant General Amnuay Nimmano was also invited to investigate the incident.

Regarding the above brawl, Vice President of the Football Association of Thailand and leader of the Thai U22 team at the 32nd SEA Games, Mr. Yuttana Yimkarun, decided to write a resignation letter.

Mr. Yuttana Yimkarun said that he did not do his job well and let the situation become more complicated.

Meanwhile, Mr. Piyapong Pue-on, one of the candidates running for the FAT presidency in August, expressed anger when many assistants of the U22 Thailand team participated in the fight.

“Player conflicts are not new, we have seen them before.

But what is worth mentioning and unforgivable this time is that some members of the coaching staff quarreled with the Indonesian side.

As a coach, they need to stop their players and not rush into a fight,” said Thai football legend Piyapong Pue-on.
