This is the fifth year of the Formula Regional European Championship. The race is named after the Alpine engine manufacturer. The race features 12 teams: ART Grand Prix, G4 Racing, Trident, Arden, Sainteloc, Prema, Van Amersfoort, MP, Monolite, KIC, R-ace GP and RPM.
Spa-Francorchamps will host rounds 7 and 8 of this year's season, with previous rounds taking place at the prestigious Imola, Barcelona-Catalunya and Hungaroring circuits.
Raidillon is considered the most famous and dangerous corner of Spa-Francorchamps, which also hosts F1 and the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2019, French driver Anthoine Hubert died here while competing in F2.
