Strengthening friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries

On the morning of November 30, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, received former Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro who is visiting Vietnam.

Welcoming the return visit to Vietnam of the Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador, Comrade Truong Thi Mai expressed her respect and acknowledged his active and tireless contributions over the past 30 years to the Vietnam-Japan relationship.

The Standing Secretary of the Secretariat thanked him for his affection for Vietnam, especially for disadvantaged children, orphans, and the visually impaired, and for implementing exchange activities, promoting culture and understanding among people through cultural and artistic programs that he has organized and is organizing, especially activities on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations and the two countries' upgrading of relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Former Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro expressed his joy in visiting Vietnam again and thanked Comrade Truong Thi Mai for taking the time to receive the delegation. The former Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador highly appreciated and respected, and deeply felt the friendship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Japan.

The former Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador also expressed his special interest in Vietnam, sharing upcoming cooperation programs in the fields of culture, arts and support for disadvantaged children in Vietnam, including the Hepatitis Prevention Project, and is ready to continue to be a bridge of friendship to continuously enrich the Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat suggested that former Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro continue to support the connection of relevant agencies of the two sides to promote cooperation, exchange, mutual consultation, and information sharing in various fields, as well as continue to pay attention and urge the Japanese Government to have policies to support the Vietnamese community studying, living and working in Japan; hoping that the former Ambassador will continue to have many practical and meaningful initiatives and activities, contributing to consolidating the foundation of the relationship between the two countries, enhancing the friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding of the people of the two countries.
