Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina and Uruguay, Ngo Minh Nguyet, said: There is great potential for cooperation between ASEAN and MERCOSUR - two regions rich in natural resources, young human resources and rapidly developing technology. With a population of over 650 million people and a total GDP of nearly 3 trillion USD, Southeast Asia deserves to be a great potential for integration and cooperation with the MERCOSUR common market with a population of about 300 million people and a GDP of about 2.5 trillion USD.

Strengthening economic relations will bring mutual benefits, not only promoting trade and investment but also opening up opportunities for technological cooperation, knowledge exchange and cultural understanding. Sharing the reason for choosing the Foreign Trade University as the venue for the event, Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet said that this is not only a leading university in the field of economics and business but also has experience in organizing large international events and projects such as the WTO Chair Program in Vietnam.

In addition, educational cooperation and academic exchanges between ASEAN and MERCOSUR will contribute to improving the quality of human resources and expanding international cooperation opportunities.

The ASEAN-MERCOSUR Chair is established as a hub for research and collaboration, with a focus on sustainable development, innovation and education. This initiative not only opens up opportunities for students, scholars and businesses from both regions but also creates lasting values, contributing to global prosperity and sustainable development.
