Cau Da River flows through Xuan La Ward (Tay Ho District - Hanoi), Xuan Dinh Ward and Co Nhue 1 Ward (Bac Tu Liem District - Hanoi) then merges with Nhue River. Recently, Cau Da River has unintentionally become a place to store domestic wastewater from people and factories, so the river water has turned black and smells bad.
Mr. Nguyen Danh Luy, a resident of Lane 323, Xuan Dinh Street, Xuan Dinh Ward, said that the river section in this lane is the end of the branch, so it often receives all the dirty water and accumulated waste. The river water is sometimes black, sometimes yellow, which is domestic wastewater and wastewater from craft villages in Xuan Dinh.
To limit the stench, people have stretched tarps along the river, installed glass doors, and taped the gaps in windows and doors. However, these efforts have been ineffective, because on hot days the stench still seeps into homes, affecting the daily lives of hundreds of households.
Sharing the same opinion with Mr. Luy, Ms. Do Ngoc Anh shared: “The area is the lowest, heavy rain floods up to a meter, vehicles cannot see the road. The fence area at the end of the alley has no fence, many sections of the fence are broken and degraded. When it rains heavily, water flows into the river, garbage floods the sewer, but there are no measures to cover the garbage, if unfortunately someone falls into the sewer, it is very dangerous”.
Typically, on August 20, while passing through here, a woman riding a motorbike fell into the river. Luckily, she was helped by local people and escaped the accident. The motorbike was not recovered until late afternoon.
Propose that the People's Committee of Bac Tu Liem district and relevant agencies promptly intervene to completely handle the above situation.
