“Trusted Addresses in the Community” is a model implemented by the Vietnam Women’s Union since 2013; this is also the time when Son La province started piloting this model in areas with urgent issues for women and girls that need to be resolved. To date, the whole province has expanded to 579 “Trusted Addresses in the Community”.
Implementing Project 8 under the National Target Program 1719, in addition to consolidating and perfecting existing models, from 2023 to present, Son La province has newly established 38 "Trusted Addresses in the community".
From 2023 to present, implementing Project 8 of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 Period (National Target Program 1719), Son La province has had additional resources to consolidate and replicate this model.
In 2013, Chieng Khoang commune was selected by the Women's Union of Quynh Nhai district to develop a pilot model of "Trusted Address in the Community". During its 11 years of operation, the “Trusted Address in the Community” of Chieng Khoang commune has become a place for women to exchange business experiences; share their disagreements, express their thoughts and concerns, and raise community awareness of the role of each citizen in preventing domestic violence and maintaining security and order in the area.
In 2024, implementing Project 8 under the National Target Program 1719, the Women's Union of Quynh Nhai district has deployed the consolidation and improvement of the model "Trusted Address in the Community" of Chieng Khoang commune. In addition to the Provincial Women's Union, Son La currently has 12 Women's Unions of districts and cities; 3 affiliated unit organizations; 204 Women's Unions of communes, wards and towns; 2,303 branches and groups, with a total of over 232,600 members.

In the coming time, to continue promoting gender equality work in ethnic minority areas, Son La province will continue to effectively implement the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021 - 2030, in conjunction with the National Target Program 1719. At the same time, pay attention to integrating gender equality contents in policy making and programs, projects, strategies, and socio-economic development plans of the province.
Gender equality work in Son La province has achieved very positive results. In the political field, in the 2020-2025 term, there are 32.5% of female provincial Party Committee members; 43.83% of female district Party Committee members and 17.8% of female commune Party Committee members; 20 female excellent teachers; 5 outstanding female teachers nationwide; 2 female associate professors - doctors; 46 female doctors; 4 female excellent artists, 7 female excellent artisans; 19 female excellent doctors...
