– On the afternoon of May 12, the Department of Education and Training (DoET) held a conference to review 2 years of implementing the topic "Building a child-centered kindergarten" for the period 2021 - 2025.

According to the report at the conference, in the past 2 years, the Department of Education and Training has fully and promptly deployed and issued documents guiding the implementation of the Special Topic, organized plans to implement the full-term special topic and thematic topics each year. At the same time, the provincial education sector has paid attention to organizing training and fostering the team of managers, teachers and staff; organized more than 500 specialized seminars at district and school levels to create opportunities for cadres, teachers and staff to share and exchange experiences, methods and forms of organizing activities according to the child-centered perspective. In the period of 2021 - 2025, 45/232 preschools have implemented thematic points, of which 5 facilities have implemented provincial-level model models and 40 facilities have implemented district-level model models.
After 2 years of implementation, schools have closely followed the 5 criteria for implementing the topic to develop plans and organize implementation at their units. Currently, the basic school network has been reviewed and arranged appropriately, the scale of schools and classes has been expanded, the rate of mobilizing children to attend classes, children receiving meals at boarding schools has increased, and 2 meals/day has increased. All levels and sectors have also paid attention to investing in facilities and supplementing equipment to meet the needs of nurturing, caring for, and educating preschool children. Accordingly, the physical and spiritual environment in schools has been significantly improved, in accordance with the actual conditions of the unit. 100% of schools have developed a code of conduct, deployed to all staff, teachers, and parents, thereby creating a comfortable mentality for children when going to school, helping parents feel secure when sending their children.

Along with the achieved results, the conference also pointed out the limitations after 2 years of implementing the topic such as: currently, the facilities and equipment serving some units are still lacking and not synchronized, some communes have not yet established kindergartens, many classrooms are semi-permanent, temporary, and rented. Some cadres and teachers still have limited professional capacity, are not really proactive and creative in organizing activities...
At the conference, delegates discussed and supplemented the achieved results, clearly stated the difficulties and obstacles in implementing the topic in their units. At the same time, delegates also agreed on the direction and solutions to effectively implement the topic in the coming time. In particular, focusing on a number of tasks such as: continuing to fully and promptly deploy guiding and directing documents, strengthening the dissemination of the topic to departments, branches, organizations, parents and the community. Schools focused on implementing the topic associated with the theme "Building green - safe and friendly kindergartens" to prevent and combat child abuse in preschools. At the same time, continuing to organize training and fostering for cadres, managers, teachers and employees on the topic, enhancing the application of information technology, digital transformation in the system of preschools...
