Regarding people's reflections on signs of fraud related to the "tourist vacation" business model, Ms. Nguyen Quynh Anh, Vice Chairman of the National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade), said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has received a number of petitions, reflections, and recommendations from people related to the "tourist vacation" business model, including issues related to criminal, civil, tourism, consumer protection, competition, etc.

From the perspective of protecting consumer rights, since 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has provided extensive information so that people can understand the nature of vacation ownership contracts as well as things to note when entering into this type of contract. Up to now, the Ministry of Industry and Trade continues to implement advisory articles on the official website of the Ministry and the National Competition Commission and the media.
In the recent past, the Ministry has also carried out other activities to carry out the function of protecting consumer rights in the field of "tourism vacations" such as: Conducting inspections of a number of businesses, including imposing administrative penalties, requiring businesses to amend their contracts according to the model to comply with the law on consumer protection when signing with people, requiring businesses to correct information to people...
At the same time, organize meetings with citizens, work with businesses; collect and verify information, coordinate with a number of relevant parties to handle people's feedback and recommendations; guide people to submit petitions to competent authorities. In the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to closely monitor the situation, conduct inspections of businesses providing "tourist vacation" services, on that basis, recommend to the Government appropriate management measures to protect the legitimate rights of consumers.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends that consumers carefully study the warning information and analysis of the Ministry of Industry and Trade from the National Competition Commission and relevant ministries, branches and localities about the "tourist holiday" contract before signing it to protect their legitimate interests.
