This activity is part of the 2023 work program of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC); and is also part of the 4th year of the Project "Developing Vietnamese journalism in the period 2020-2024" with the support of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk).
Through the workshop, leaders of radio and television stations had the opportunity to directly discuss with leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications about difficulties and problems in radio and television broadcasting activities in recent times; this was also an opportunity for functional units of the Ministry of Information and Communications and related ministries and branches to exchange, discuss and directly respond to recommendations of radio and television stations.

Within the framework of the workshop, delegates were provided with an overview of the activities of the broadcasting sector in the past year by state management agencies; listened to speakers and experts provide information on the listening and viewing trends of Vietnamese audiences and television advertising trends in Vietnam, and on measuring audiences and listeners in the digital media era.
At the workshop, delegates exchanged, discussed and answered questions related to economic and technical norms, unit prices, and ordering mechanisms for providing public services using the State budget, thereby finding solutions to remove difficulties for TV stations to continue to develop sustainably, successfully complete the tasks of political propaganda and policy communication, and better serve the healthy entertainment and information needs of the Vietnamese people.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Communications will accept recommendations and proposals, and at the same time have specific plans to report to the Government, amend documents, and issue new policies, thereby actively innovating State management activities on radio and television, creating momentum for the development of radio and television stations.
“In June, the important thing is to submit a revision to the list of public career services using the State budget in the field of information and communication. In which, a series of tasks, non-existing spending caps, and transmission costs on all infrastructures, from traditional to network infrastructure, will be added. Without this, digital transformation of the press will not be possible, and we will protect this,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam.
