On the afternoon of July 12, singer Huong Giang announced a music night called Half in Ho Chi Minh City, marking her 25-year artistic career since she won first prize in the Television Singing Contest.

The female singer said the name "One Half" symbolizes her promise to the audience. "Huong Giang's past 25 years of singing are only half. I will continue to sing and serve the audience for another 25 years to complete my musical career," the 7X singer expressed.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Huong Giang said that the music night was invested with a "huge" cost. However, the 7X singer revealed that there was someone behind the scenes supporting the entire cost for this music night, she did not have to pay any fees.

Revealing the identity of this person, Huong Giang said: "He is a long-time audience and is 7-8 years younger than me. He has admired me since he was a student, at that time I was also new to the profession. Later, he became a successful person and we met again by chance. He was the one who asked me if I wanted to do anything and promised to invest."

Huong Giang said that their relationship is simply that of a fan and an idol. Because he admires the 7X singer's voice, this audience member often comes to listen to her sing and does not ask for any requests from Huong Giang.

Being a person who is proud of her profession, she said that she does not easily accept offers from others. However, the female singer felt the sincerity and respect from this audience so she agreed to accept the support.

In response to questions about the profit of the concert, Huong Giang responded: "I just want to have a special concert to celebrate my 25-year singing career. I don't put much emphasis on the revenue of this concert, even though I know for sure it will be a loss.

However, like other singers, I really want my concert to fill the audience. This creates a great motivation for me to be able to sublimate on stage."

According to Huong Giang, although the music night was held at VOH Theater - Music One (HCMC), the ticket price was only equivalent to that of a tea room.

"I think my audience is very familiar with tea rooms. Now that the economy is in trouble, having to pay a larger amount of money to go to the theater will be a barrier for them," she said.

The 7X singer admitted that she is a singer of "age" but no "name" in the Vietnamese entertainment industry. However, she "knows herself, knows others", and does not have any demands. Huong Giang also confided that she is not suitable to become a famous person.

She added: "To become famous, many factors are needed and I find myself lacking a lot. Apart from singing ability and musical thinking, I don't have anything else. I don't have beauty, I don't have jealousy in me and I don't have the financial ability to invest in my career."

Huong Giang said that after leaving the Voice of Vietnam contest in 1997, she received an offer from musician Nguyen Nam asking, "Do you want to be famous like Phuong Thanh?" However, the singer refused with the simple thought of going to school, graduating, and then going to work.

The 7X singer said that she chose a quiet path, but she was lucky that she had never had to ask anyone to sing. Looking back on her 25-year career, the singer realized that despite many hardships, she received a lot of love and respect from people in the profession.

Singer Huong Giang (born in 1974) is the wife of the late singer Phi Hai. She started singing at the age of 22, won first prize in the Dong Nai Province Television Singing Contest, third prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest in 1997 and fourth prize in the National Television Singing Contest (tied with Ho Quynh Huong).

Although she is an experienced singer and highly regarded by experts, Huong Giang has remained relatively quiet. For more than two decades, she has mainly sung in tea rooms in Ho Chi Minh City, and is affectionately called "the sad girl of the tea room" by audiences.

In particular, Huong Giang's voice is loved by many people in the hi-end music world (music performed by high-end sound systems). In 2022, musician Duc Tri invited Huong Giang to collaborate on the vinyl album Mot doi yeu anh.
