Along with the So flower festival (Binh Lieu), the Sim flower festival on the border (Mong Cai), the Yen Tu cherry blossom - yellow apricot flower festival (Ha Long - Uong Bi), the Ba Che district yellow tea flower festival is one of the unique cultural and tourism events, aiming to honor precious medicinal plants, which has been opening up opportunities for the locality to promote economic and tourism development, contributing to improving people's lives.
With its brilliant, elegant yellow color, the yellow camellia usually blooms in late November and early December of the lunar calendar. This is also the time when people in Ba Che district eagerly and enthusiastically await the Yellow Camellia Festival. Held every two years, the first time in 2016, the Yellow Camellia Festival has become a special “spiritual food”, a unique and distinctive cultural mark of the people of Ba Che district.
The festival takes place with many activities such as: Displaying yellow camellia trees; displaying OCOP booths and local specialties; visiting tea gardens in the district...
According to Mr. Ha Ngoc Tung, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Ba Che district, the Golden Flower Tea Festival is held periodically with the purpose of promoting, introducing and consuming golden flower tea products - a unique product of Ba Che. Along with that, promoting OCOP products, potential agricultural products, strengths of the district, contributing to trade promotion, attracting businesses to invest in the district in the fields of planting, processing medicinal herbs, developing tourism and other industries with strengths of the locality.
At this Golden Camellia Festival, Ba Che district also organized the announcement of achieving new rural standards in 2022, promising to bring a grand and unique art program. People's Artist Tu Dieu Huong, General Director of the Golden Camellia Festival art program in 2023, said: the art program will be designed and staged elaborately, imbued with the cultural colors of Ba Che ethnic groups. Each performance will be like a greeting, inviting investors and tourists to come to Ba Che - a land with a promising aspiration to rise.
In addition, within the framework of the festival, there will be an exhibition of OCOP booths and local specialties such as Morinda officinalis, Cat Sam; folk dance exchanges between the district's clubs; an art photo exhibition "The beauty of the land and people of Ba Che district"; visiting tea gardens and buying fresh camellia products, yellow camellia leaves, yellow camellia seedlings in Ba Che town, Don Dac, Thanh Son, Dap Thanh communes; visiting historical sites of Ong Temple - Ba Temple; Ancient porcelain kiln; Dao ethnic community house... in the district.
