The 43rd ASEAN Summit and related Summits are a series of important high-level activities concluding Indonesia's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2023 with the theme "A Great ASEAN: The Heart of Growth".

The conferences take place in the context of rapid changes in the world and regional situation. The world economy is forecast to grow more positively but the pace is unstable and may reverse.

In that context, transforming the connection method, restructuring the economy, and moving towards sustainable autonomy has become an urgent need for most countries. Multidimensional economic linkage with diverse connections is the method chosen by many countries.

The Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions are both the focus of growth and the focus of strategic competition. Southeast Asia is still considered an economic bright spot, but the exports of many countries in the region have declined. Along with that, the situation in Myanmar, the East Sea... in the region are major topics of concern.

As ASEAN Chair 2023, Indonesia has been very active in promoting the implementation of priorities and initiatives; thereby, both creating momentum for ASEAN's development and consolidating ASEAN's role in efforts to promote dialogue, cooperation, maintain peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.

Vietnam continues to proactively and actively participate and contribute responsibly with member countries to maintain and promote a balanced and harmonious approach to regional and international issues, consolidate the central role, promote ASEAN's responsibility and voice for peace, stability and development.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 43rd ASEAN Summit to continue implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization in accordance with the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and Directive 25 of the Secretariat; conveying the great message of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam to ASEAN and international friends about a peaceful, cooperative, integrated Vietnam, participating more actively, proactively and effectively in regional processes.
