At a brief meeting with Head of the Russian Federation Delegation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, attending the Southeast Asia Summit in Jakarta, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed the importance of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the WB's support and assistance to Vietnam in socio-economic development, especially in poverty reduction, gender equality, development support for remote areas, and agricultural development.
The Vietnamese Government always values and wishes to continue receiving active and effective support from the WB. The Prime Minister also asked the WB to continue accompanying Vietnam in the development process.
In particular, priority is given to supporting Vietnam with capital and experience in four areas: infrastructure development and logistics capacity; energy conversion, green energy development, renewable energy; supporting the Mekong Delta to prevent subsidence, landslides, flooding and agricultural development; promoting innovation and digital transformation.
The WB President highly appreciated and shared the strategic orientations proposed by the Prime Minister. These are priority areas of cooperation to create qualitative changes for Vietnam's development in the next decade. The WB is ready to support Vietnam in implementing major projects to realize these goals.
