People of Loc Ha (Ha Tinh) welcome the new spring with pride in reaching the finish line of the new rural district. From the fields to the sea, the rhythm of year-end production and labor is still steady, making the picture of the coastal countryside more colorful and vivid.
Spring comes to the fields
This spring is the most beautiful spring for Mr. Le Viet Huong and his wife in Dong Thinh village (Hong Loc commune). Their joy is built from the rice fields stretching out to the garden full of fruit trees and the cozy house. Mr. Le Viet Huong excitedly said: “This year, we celebrate Tet more happily because the last two crops have brought 31 tons of rice to the drying yard, enough to eat for the whole year and sold for 210 million VND. In addition to the sweat and effort poured into the fields, the past golden seasons are also the result of land conversion. More than a year ago, I boldly took on 4 hectares of barren land in Con Hao and then renovated the ground, leveled the road, led water, built embankments... to have a good field and the results like today”.

For Mr. Tran Thanh in Xuan Trieu village (Binh An commune), looking at his 2-hectare rice field with irrigation ditches, internal roads, and 90% mechanization..., his heart was filled with indescribable joy. His family no longer had to run around all over the fields; instead, they only worked on one large plot, produced in the direction of commodities, practiced organic agriculture, and aimed for high-yield crops with great economic efficiency.
Tan Loc farmers were excited to be given large plots of land, so they quickly renovated them to plant spring crops on time.
The "great revolution" in the fields in Hong Loc commune at the end of 2022 brought vitality and freshness to the agricultural picture of Loc Ha. With many advantages in cultivation, the golden rice covering 529 hectares of fields and the yield reaching 6 tons/ha... has encouraged other communes to learn and follow. Four months ago, Tan Loc commune allocated 16 billion VND to convert 660 hectares of fields for 1,621 households into a large plot associated with the construction of synchronous production infrastructure. Binh An commune also successfully piloted 60 hectares in Xuan Trieu village and has prepared resources to mass-produce the entire commune in the coming time.
The large fields after land conversion have produced bumper crops.
Mr. Le Hong Co - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Loc Ha district excitedly said: "Land conversion opens up large plots, large fields, completes production infrastructure, enhances the application of science and technology, brings mechanization to the fields, develops production in a modern and sustainable direction are some of the most important goals and tasks in Loc Ha. The whole district has 3 communes that have converted 1,249 hectares, thereby creating a foundation for accumulating 1,610 hectares by 2025, reaching 4,000 hectares by 2030 (accounting for 50% of the district's total area) and contributing to creating a new look, new momentum in the fields".
The development of cultivation has created a "locomotive" for successful livestock farming, especially modern, concentrated farming models. (Photo of raising hybrid cows in Tan Loc commune).
“Along with the land conversion, the picture of agricultural production in Loc Ha in the past year has also had many bright colors. Thanks to the enthusiastic working spirit of the people and the close attention of all levels and sectors, the whole district has planted 8,297 hectares (up 3% compared to the previous year), food output reached 30,183 tons (up 7% compared to the previous year).
The development of cultivation has created a "locomotive" for the development of livestock with a herd of 10,802 buffaloes and cows (an increase of 7.3% compared to 2022), a herd of 10,300 pigs (an increase of 2.9% compared to 2022), and a maintained herd of 291,000 poultry..." - Mr. Le Hong Co shared more.
Joy from the sea
Loc Ha sea in spring is full of life with boats rushing out to sea every afternoon and returning early in the morning loaded with shrimp and fish. Cua Sot fishing port is always bustling with boats. Joining that bustling rhythm, fisherman Nguyen Xuan Long (owner of boat HT 90149 TS) and 13 fellow fishermen from Long Hai village (Thach Kim commune) cut through the waves to sea with the determination to bring a lot of seafood back to the mainland for Tet.

In joy, they are proud to be the ones who conquer the sea, master the ocean, live in the joy of working every day and become the source of livelihood for their families, the fulcrum for building their homeland.
Mr. Long said: “Every month, we regularly go out to sea 13 times on a 210 CV boat. We cross the sea about 25 nautical miles, working hard for 2 days and nights to bring back more than 1 ton of shrimp, fish, squid, crab and other valuable seafood. After deducting expenses, each trip out to sea, the fishermen earn 600-700 thousand VND/person/day, the boat owner earns 1.5-1.7 million VND/day. The fruits of that labor have helped the family life become more prosperous, and have a full Tet holiday.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen - an officer of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Loc Ha district excitedly said: "Love for the ocean and responsibility for life have helped the fleet of more than 300 ships and thousands of fishermen of Loc Ha overcome many storms and hardships to bring gifts from the ocean to the mainland. Thanks to favorable weather, abundant fishing grounds, hard-working fishermen, and constant attention from all levels and sectors, the total output of the district this year reached 2,864 tons of shrimp, fish, squid, crabs and other mollusks, with a production value of over 300 billion VND, higher than last year".
On the coast, joy has also come to people who dare to think, dare to do, boldly invest in aquaculture to exploit potential, promote advantages, and strive to get rich. On an area of 417 hectares of brackish water surface, high-tech aquaculture models, circulating technology, and intensive farming have been continuously built and put into stable production, helping to minimize disease risks, protect the environment, and increase productivity, with a total output of 1,778 tons of shrimp, crabs, fish of all kinds and 2,100 tons of mollusks, bringing in hundreds of billions of VND in revenue each year.

Mr. Nguyen Van An - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee excitedly said: "Loc Ha welcomes spring in the joy of bumper crops... Peaceful, warm, and abundant life is evident throughout the villages, in every house and becomes the highlight in the spring picture. This is also the fulcrum for Loc Ha to look towards the future, building a life that is more and more prosperous, beautiful, rich, and happy".
