This year the race is divided into 2 rounds, round 1 will take place from June 29 to July 7 with the participation of 9 jockeys from Bac Ha, round 2 from July 12 to July 22 with the participation of 30 jockeys from the Northwestern provinces. The special feature is that in addition to traditional horse racing like every year, visitors can also admire performances such as horses racing through obstacles with increasing difficulty such as jumping over hurdles and overcoming obstacles. 
Performances include horses jumping through fire rings, pack horses, single horse circus, double horse circus, horses jumping over obstacles and lying horse performances. In this year's "Horse Hoofs on the Clouds" season, the races will apply an extremely competitive knockout format. 
On the opening day of June 29, the excellent "knights" and "horses" from the traditional Bac Ha horse races brought close-fought two-horse and three-horse races, and spectacular sprints to the finish line. Each day, the race will have 3 rounds, selecting the three best horse riders to compete for first, second, and third prizes. 
Coming to Sa Pa this time, in addition to witnessing the large-scale "Horse Hoof in the Clouds" competition season that ignites the Northwest festival atmosphere, visitors can also experience summer with a cool climate, admire the majestic natural scenery of Hoang Lien Son range and check-in the brilliant flower season where heaven and earth meet. 
This year's "Horse Hoofs on the Clouds" season also returns with a series of special sideline activities in the Rose Valley. From July 12 to July 22, the "Northwest Spirit" demonstration program will gather 30 talented athletes, controlling trained horses to overcome obstacles of increasing difficulty such as jumping over hurdles and overcoming obstacles.
