Quang Tri approves planning project for Vietnam - Laos border urban area

The Department of Construction of Quang Tri province has just held a ceremony to announce two general planning projects for the new urban area of ​​La Vang and the new urban area of ​​Lia, building and developing the urban area to meet the criteria of a type V urban area before 2045.

In particular, developing Lia urban area to become a focal point for trade and services in the southern region of Huong Hoa district; building a wholesale market to supply and purchase goods in the Lia area; forming a commercial center for trading goods between the Central Laos border area and Quang Tri province through Thanh - Denvilay sub-border gate.

The Department of Construction of Quang Tri province has just announced two general planning projects for the new urban area of ​​La Vang and the new urban area of ​​Lia, building and developing the urban area to meet the criteria of a type V urban area before 2045.

Previously, last March, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province issued Decision No. 609 on approving the general urban planning project of La Vang (Hai Lang district) and Decision No. 492 on the general planning project of Lia urban area (Huong Hoa district).

According to the planning scale, the new urban area of ​​La Vang covers the entire Hai Phu commune (Hai Lang district), the northern boundary borders Hai Quy commune, the southern boundary borders Hai Lam commune, the eastern boundary borders Hai Thuong commune (Hai Lang district) and the western boundary borders Quang Tri town.

With the goal of building and developing La Vang urban area to meet the criteria of a type V urban area before 2045, it has an important position in terms of national defense and security; has a synchronous, modern technical and social infrastructure system, adapting to climate change; forming a specialized center for trade services, tourism services, playing a role in promoting the socio-economic development of Hai Lang district. La Vang urban area will develop in the direction of trade services, tourism services, high-tech agriculture and is divided into 3 functional sub-zones.

Developing the new urban area of ​​La Vang in the direction of connecting with Quang Tri town, Dong Ha city on the basis of forming the extended Hung Vuong road, Dien Sanh town and the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone; connecting infrastructure with the western National Highway 1, National Highway 9 and the North-South high-speed railway to form an external traffic system to create momentum to promote urban development.

There will be 4 urban gateways, of which 2 gateways are located on Phu Le A and Phu Le B streets intersecting with National Highway 1A. The La Vang Pilgrimage Center is also one of the highlights of the new urban design. Along with that are Long Hung Church, the central area of ​​the urban square, the green square and the main traffic intersections. Regarding the traffic system planning, 3 parking lots will be built to serve the needs of pilgrimages at the La Vang Pilgrimage Center, including parking lot No. 1 on Phu Le B street, parking lot No. 2 in the Da Bac area and parking lot No. 3 on the extended Hung Vuong street.

In addition, Lia Urban Area, in Huong Hoa district, was also approved to be formed based on the goal: Building and developing an urban area that meets the criteria of a type V urban area before 2045, with a synchronous and modern technical and social infrastructure system, adapting to climate change, forming a specialized center for economics, culture, and tourism, playing a role in promoting the socio-economic development of the southern region of Huong Hoa district.

Lia urban area is a comprehensive urban area under Huong Hoa district, a type V urban area; developing in trade services, industry - handicrafts, tourism services, renewable energy; has an important position in national defense and border security. With a total natural area of ​​2,836 hectares, the land use planning orientation to 2045 is as follows: Urban construction land to 2045 is about 762.78 hectares, accounting for about 26.9% of the total natural land area, including: civil land is 181.06 hectares, non-civil land is 581.72 hectares and other land is 2,073.22 hectares.

Lia urban development in the direction of trade and services, industry - handicrafts, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture. Lia urban area will become the center, the hub of Vietnam - Laos border exchange in the southern area of ​​Huong Hoa district, the driving force for the development of Lia communes; develop the external traffic system connecting with National Highway 9, Ho Chi Minh road, West branch, Khe Sanh town, and communes in the southern part of Huong Hoa district.

The urban area is divided into 7 functional zones and focuses on building public service works such as: Administrative center, Commercial service area, Cultural, sports, medical and educational area./.
