Quang Nam: For the first time, there are 2 products meeting 5-star OCOP standards

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam chaired the third meeting of the Central OCOP Product Classification and Evaluation Council in 2024. After discussion and exchange, the Central OCOP Product Classification and Evaluation Council unanimously decided to recognize 28 products as having achieved national OCOP certification.

On January 17, 2025, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Tran Thanh Nam signed and issued Decision No. 377 approving the results of product evaluation and classification of the national "One Commune One Product" - OCOP Program in 2024 (phase 3).

Accordingly, in this third phase, 28 products nationwide were recognized as national OCOP products (5-star OCOP products). Of which, for the first time, Quang Nam province has 2 products that meet 5-star OCOP standards: Quy Thu grilled coconut cake of Quy Thu Production - Trading Company Limited (Que Xuan 2 commune, Que Son) and SAPHRATON health protection food of Sam Sam Company Limited (Tra Linh commune, Nam Tra My).

Products that meet the national OCOP standards are granted a Certificate by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and are allowed to use the national OCOP logo and stamp on packaging, labels and documents introducing and promoting the product brand according to regulations.

Classification results are valid for 36 months from the date of recognition.

According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam, OCOP products when introduced to the international market are highly appreciated by international friends, many products are not enough to sell. In the coming time, OCOP products will continue to target the US, Dubai, Japan markets and produce according to orders from supermarkets in the US.
