Quang Nam still has thousands of households without electricity.

On December 2, according to the report of Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, on the development of rural electricity network, after organizing a review and assessment of the power supply capacity, in 9 mountainous districts, there are still about 1,742 households without electricity but no investment plan, no capital for power supply.

Of which, the number of households that can be supplied with electricity from the national grid is about 1,413 households with a total estimated investment of about 174 billion VND. The number of households that cannot be supplied with electricity from the national grid is about 329 households.

To ensure the achievement of the rate of households using electricity reaching 99.8% by 2025 as set out in Resolution No. 37/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 8, 2021, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the implementation of a number of solutions.

The People's Committees of districts organize the arrangement and stabilization of population in areas, clusters, and ridges with a small number of households living scattered into concentrated residential areas and have an annual implementation plan for the entire period of 2021-2025.

In particular, priority is given to arranging for households that cannot be supplied with electricity by the national grid.

On that basis, arrange to integrate into the allocated investment capital sources, national target programs to ensure compliance with the mechanism and policies to implement electricity supply investment; regularly review, update, and synthesize local electricity supply needs, report and propose to competent authorities for monitoring and direction of resolution.

The Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance balance budget sources, advise the Provincial People's Committee to promote, mobilize, and integrate support capital sources from the central budget, ODA, foreign preferential loans, national target programs and other legal capital sources to invest in providing electricity to households without electricity and without investment capital in 9 mountainous districts.

Mr. Thanh assigned the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to speed up the investment progress of rural electricity supply from the national grid of Quang Nam province to promptly provide electricity to households without electricity.

“Quang Nam Electricity Company should strengthen management and operation to ensure the reliability and safety of electricity supply to the people. Allocate annual capital to invest in upgrading the power grid, improve the quality of electricity and the reliability of electricity supply to households in 9 mountainous areas, especially households without electricity,” Mr. Thanh suggested.
