Before the new school year 2024-2025, Quang Binh province is still short of 1,311 teachers. Currently, the province has added 914 contract teaching positions but still lacks nearly 400 teachers at public preschools and general education institutions.
On August 22, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Binh province said that in the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Binh province will have more than 246,000 students, an increase of 2,900 students compared to the previous school year. The total number of teachers in 2024 in this province is 13,177, currently lacking 1,311 teachers. Faced with this situation, Quang Binh province has added 914 contract teaching positions but is still short of nearly 400 teachers at public preschools and general education institutions.
Many schools in the area are currently unable to recruit a number of job positions according to demand, and have difficulty arranging teachers, especially for English, Information Technology and Technology at the primary level; Music and Fine Arts at the high school level. The biggest shortage is English teachers because recently many English teachers do not want to teach in mountainous, remote areas. Some teachers even leave to teach at English centers.
To overcome the above situation, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Binh is considering transferring English teachers from these schools to other schools in the same area to teach. At the same time, it is mobilizing high school teachers to teach middle and primary schools to overcome the shortage of English teachers in mountainous areas.
