Phu Quoc and Sa Pa continue to become prominent tourist destinations, attracting visitors during Lunar New Year 2025

NDO - Thanks to attractive products, tours, and routes, this year, Vietnam welcomed a strong increase in the number of tourists during the Lunar New Year compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year, showing a positive sign in the recovery process of the tourism industry. Some destinations such as Phu Quoc, Sa Pa, Quang Ninh... achieved impressive results, contributing to increasing the recognition of Vietnam's brand in the international arena.

The Lunar New Year 2025 will see a large number of international visitors to Phu Quoc. Not only visitors from Taiwan (China), Korea, Thailand, Singapore, etc., many people from Kazakhstan and Poland also choose the island city as a place to enjoy the traditional Vietnamese New Year atmosphere.

Phu Quoc City People's Committee informed that during the Lunar New Year holiday from January 25 to February 2, the locality welcomed more than 281,000 visitors, an increase of 47% over the same period in 2024.

Mr. Dinh Gia Long, General Director of Paradise Land Phu Quoc, said that the resorts in Hoang Hon town all reached over 90% occupancy during this period. According to the representative of Sun World Hon Thom, the number of visitors using the cable car service and shows increased. In particular, the number of people watching the show "Kiss of the sea" increased by 284% compared to the same period last year.

The highlight of the peak Tet tourism season in Phu Quoc is the surge in international visitors. Accordingly, Phu Quoc welcomes about 38-39 international flights every day. The total number of international visitors reached 74,833, up 44% over the same period last year.

Besides Phu Quoc, Sa Pa continues to be a magnet for tourists during the Lunar New Year thanks to its attractive experiences and the colors of spring. This is also a destination that contributes to Lao Cai's revenue of VND1,342 billion from tourism activities.

Tourists enjoy checking in at the "roof of Indochina" on the occasion of Lunar New Year.

Total revenue from international visitors to Lao Cai reached about 126 billion VND, total revenue from domestic visitors reached about 1,215 billion VND, an increase of 49% over the same period in 2024. In addition to Sa Pa, many destinations in Lao Cai also attract many tourists such as Lao Cai city, Bac Ha district, Bat Xat district, Bao Yen district.

In particular, until the end of January, every weekend, visitors to Lao Cai will experience a new festival. On the weekend of February 8-9, you can participate in the Gau Tao Festival of the H'Mong people. Meanwhile, on February 15-16, the Put Tong Festival of the Red Dao people will take place here.

In addition to Phu Quoc and Lao Cai, the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Da Nang and Tay Ninh also attracted a large number of tourists during the Lunar New Year 2025. A series of attractive spring travel programs were organized at local tourist areas, attracting both domestic and international tourists to participate.

In Quang Ninh, the Silver Dawn ship carrying nearly 500 tourists from European and American countries arrived in Ha Long on January 1. This event promises to open a positive signal for a bumper tourist season for international visitors.

In Da Nang, tourists are especially excited about the Tulip Festival taking place in the atmosphere of celebrating the new spring. Nearly 400,000 flowers of 45 rare varieties bloom and show off their colors on the top of Ba Na. It is known that the Tulip Festival will last until the end of February 2025.

In Tay Ninh, during the first days of the new year, Ba Den Mountain has attracted hundreds of thousands of pilgrims every day. Visitors will be immersed in the atmosphere of the Ba Mountain Spring Festival which lasts throughout January with many special activities.

Overall, during the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, the tourism industry nationwide is expected to welcome and serve 12.5 million domestic visitors, an increase of about 19% over the same period in 2024. International visitors will also increase by an average of about 30% thanks to the effect of visa policies, restructuring of the tourist market and innovation efforts of localities and businesses.
