On the afternoon of March 7, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a meeting with female leaders of the unit to celebrate the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day, March 8.

Comrade Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment chaired the meeting. Also attending the meeting were Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel Pham Tan Tuyen, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Nguyen Do Anh Tuan and all female leaders and managers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Trade Union, Ms. Vu Thi Phuong Lan reviewed the tradition of 115 years of International Women's Day and 1985 years of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and the activities of the Women's Union in recent times.

In order to promote the tradition with the history of thousands of years of building and defending the country, Vietnamese women have always trained and affirmed themselves with the 8 golden words that Uncle Ho awarded: "Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible".

Today, Vietnamese women have affirmed their position, prestige and capacity in the region and internationally, proudly standing shoulder to shoulder with advanced women around the world.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Phuong Lan, the country is vigorously implementing Resolution 18 of the Party on streamlining and streamlining the apparatus. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment officially came into operation on March 1, 2025. In a very short time, all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry have closely followed the direction of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry, leaders of the Ministry, Party committees, leaders of agencies and units to perform well the assigned tasks.

“In the coming time, with the 8 key tasks set out by the Ministry, all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, including 43% of women, will continue to promote tradition, unite, make efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges, strive to join hands to build and contribute to putting the Ministry into stable operation right from the first days of its establishment, maintain the momentum of development and sustainable growth; actively contribute to the common development of the country in the new era, the era of striving, developing richly and prosperously for the nation”, Ms. Vu Thi Phuong Lan emphasized.

At the meeting, female leaders of the units shared about their journey, challenges and opportunities they experienced during their work, shared their pride in participating and contributing to the cause of agriculture and environment in particular, and the country in general; expressed sincere thanks to the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the units in the Ministry for always caring and creating the best conditions for women to have the opportunity to develop in all aspects, and ensuring women's equality in all fields.

In addition, the women discussed issues of gender equality and proposed solutions to create more favorable conditions for women to develop in the working environment. Priority policies for female cadres, special support mechanisms for women in leadership positions and training programs to improve the capacity of female leaders.

In the coming time, the women also hope to continue to receive attention and support from the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and heads of units so that women can excellently complete their assigned tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep acknowledged, highly appreciated and sent deep gratitude to all female cadres, leaders and managers of the Ministry for their silent but extremely great contributions over the past time.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep, women are not only the ones who keep the fire burning in the family but also important factors in the development of the Agriculture and Environment sector. The Deputy Minister said that to achieve success, women must make many times more efforts, both completing professional work and fulfilling family responsibilities. This is a big challenge, requiring perseverance, courage and sacrifice.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep said that currently, the proportion of female leaders at the management level in the Ministry is only about 15%, in which the number of women holding unit heads is still very modest. This poses an urgent need to create more opportunities and a favorable environment for female cadres to develop and contribute more to management and operations.

"The Ministry will continue to develop support policies, ensure real gender equality, and create conditions for women to promote their capacity and rise to hold more important positions," Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep affirmed.
