On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Deputy Prime Minister warmly visited and wished everyone and every family a warm, prosperous and fulfilling Tet holiday and a new year of peace and prosperity.

Talking to the people, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the country overcame the difficult year of 2024 with the economic growth rate of 7.09% for the whole year, among the high growth groups in the region and the world, the economic scale reached 476.3 billion USD, ranked 33rd among the major economies of the world; State budget revenue exceeded 2 million billion VND.

Dong Nai province also achieved an impressive growth rate of 8.02%, making an important contribution to the country's economic development. It is implementing key national projects, such as Long Thanh airport and expressways connecting with localities in the Southeast and Central Highlands, gradually promoting and creating new momentum for local development.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that, along with economic achievements, the Party and State have devoted large resources to implementing social security policies; repaying gratitude and mobilizing social resources to care for the lives of 1.13 million people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives.

Housing policies for meritorious people, policy beneficiaries, workers and the movement to eliminate temporary and leaky houses have been implemented more widely and effectively, with the goal of completion by 2025. Dong Nai is the leading locality in eliminating temporary and leaky houses; at the same time supporting other localities.

The poverty rate has decreased to 1.93%; health care and spiritual and cultural life have continued to improve; thereby contributing to raising the happiness index in 2024 by 11 places, ranking 54/143. Vietnam is considered by the international community as a bright spot in the world in the fight against poverty.

The Deputy Prime Minister was pleased to know that, along with achievements in economic development, the lives of people in Dong Nai province continue to improve, with an average income per capita of nearly 149 million VND/year.

Dong Nai Party Committees and authorities at all levels pay attention to social security policies, hunger eradication and poverty reduction. As a province with a large concentration of workers, in 2024, Dong Nai completed and put into use nearly 1,700 social housing and housing for workers and is focusing on building more than 7,200 more houses in 2025.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Provincial General Confederation of Labor have effectively implemented housing support campaigns, spending nearly 450 billion VND to take care of union members and workers with activities such as organizing the "Tet Reunion Train - Spring 2025" with 1,000 train tickets, the programs "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Gratitude to the Party" and the program "Trade Union Tet Market" to serve workers.

The Provincial People's Committee supports the trade union organization with 30 billion VND to take care of union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Government has submitted to the National Assembly and issued, within its authority, policies on housing, land, and social insurance with many new regulations to ensure living conditions for policy beneficiaries, ethnic minorities, workers, and learning conditions for children of workers. The age of receiving monthly allowances for the elderly without pensions has been reduced to 75 years old (the old regulation was 80 years old); for those in poor and near-poor households, those from 70 to under 75 years old are entitled to social pensions.

In 2025, the Government will continue to innovate and improve the quality of social policies with tasks and solutions to ensure resources to implement policies for people with meritorious services, ethnic minorities, and people in difficult circumstances in remote areas; policies on employment, social insurance, unemployment insurance, social assistance, poverty reduction, and policies to improve social welfare (on health, education, housing, culture, clean water, environmental sanitation, and information infrastructure).

The Prime Minister has issued a policy to support housing for people with revolutionary contributions; launched the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" to be completed by 2025 nationwide. "Dong Nai will soon achieve the goal of all people having housing", the Deputy Prime Minister believes.

The Government will focus on synchronously implementing sustainable poverty reduction solutions in a multi-dimensional, inclusive, and multi-layered manner to ensure a minimum standard of living and basic social services, especially improving and caring for people's quality of life; supporting production development, diversifying livelihoods, gradually increasing income, and stabilizing the long-term lives of poor and near-poor households.

"All are aimed at the highest goal of the people enjoying the fruits of the cause of innovation, developing the country, improving the quality of life and happiness index," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to continue reviewing, researching and proposing additional adjustments to policies to improve people's material and spiritual lives. "The Central Government's policy is available, but it is important to implement it in accordance with local conditions."

Continue to synchronously and effectively implement policies and strategies on poverty reduction, especially the three national target programs; strive to complete at least about 100,000 apartments for low-income people and workers by 2025.

Dong Nai provincial Party Committees and authorities continue to pay attention and have support policies to create more jobs and livelihoods for poor and near-poor households to improve their lives and get rich. "Not only poor and near-poor households, but also in the green transformation and digital transformation, Dong Nai needs to pay attention to training human resources to attract investment projects following new trends," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Especially as one of the areas with the most industrial parks in the country (with 32 industrial parks and nearly 780,000 workers), Dong Nai needs to pay special attention to ensuring housing through allocating land funds for housing development for workers, as well as accompanying cultural and social infrastructure.

Focus on developing cultural institutions and activities to improve the spiritual life of the majority of workers in the area, who are young; provide training and education in legal and social knowledge; ensure medical and educational conditions for workers' children; ensure security and order, fight against social evils so that workers can have a safe, healthy, joyful and happy life.

Organizations and business communities fulfill their social responsibilities well, taking care of the material and spiritual life and living conditions of workers. Especially during this Tet holiday, organize practical activities to support families to celebrate a "reunion, warmth, and fullness" Tet, bringing Spring love to everyone, every home.
