Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc attends the Great Solidarity Festival in Vinh Phuc

On the evening of November 12, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc attended the National Great Unity Day - Military - People Cultural Festival in Chien Thang village, Dong Tinh commune, Tam Duong district, Vinh Phuc province.

The Chien Thang Model Cultural Village has 315 households with 1,127 people. In recent years, Chien Thang village has developed in a positive direction. In 2024, implementing the Resolution of the Party Committee and the plans of the People's Council and People's Committee of the commune on socio-economic development, the Chien Thang Village Front Working Committee has specified the criteria in accordance with reality to sign commitments, propagate and mobilize people to implement. Actively develop economic models, apply scientific and technical advances in production, invest in optimal cultivation to increase crop and livestock productivity, and average income per capita in the village from 54 million VND in 2023 to 65 million VND in 2024.

The Front Committee of the residential area has organized well the registration of building cultural families from the beginning of the year. Through the 2024 assessment, over 95.7% of households in the village have achieved the title of cultural family. At the same time, the Front Committee has coordinated with organizations to mobilize people in the residential area to actively participate in building and maintaining community culture and arts, physical education and sports activities to improve people's health. People have agreed to support and enthusiastically participated in the content of celebrating the Party, celebrating spring and celebrating major holidays. Up to now, the village has established 5 volleyball clubs, badminton, soccer teams, folk dance-arts, chess, etc.

Implementing the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life", the Party Committee, Party members and people in the village always participate and mobilize their relatives to enthusiastically participate in all cultural, artistic and sports movements organized by the People's Committee of the commune and the village. Cadres, Party members and people always raise awareness, set an example, strictly comply with the directives and regulations on civilized lifestyle such as reducing cumbersome and backward customs in weddings, funerals, festivals, not being superstitious to ensure compliance with the village's covenant of the model cultural village.

The movement to build a learning society and socialize education has developed widely in residential areas. 100% of school-age children attend school. Environmental protection and community health are regularly paid attention to; in the cultural institution area and on the village roads, trees are regularly planted to create a Green - Clean - Beautiful environment, the village roads and alleys are always airy, clean and beautiful. Currently, the village has implemented 8 bright, clean, civilized roads with a total length of 3,328m...

In the exciting atmosphere of the Festival, delegates, cadres and people of Chien Thang village reviewed the glorious traditions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam People's Army; evaluated the results of implementing patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, and local military and defense work in 2024.

Speaking at the Festival, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc warmly praised the positive results that the Party Committee, government and people of Chien Thang village have achieved in recent times.

"Vinh Phuc is a land of outstanding people, with a heroic revolutionary tradition and has strived to become a province with one of the highest growth rates in the country. We are very excited about that, especially since you are also taking the lead in building a model cultural village. Building a comprehensively developed province, not only developing industry but also developing trade and services, paying attention to social security and caring about people's lives," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his wish that the Party Committee, the Government and the people will always unite to build the homeland to become more and more prosperous. The Party Committee and the Government will overcome all difficulties, overcome the consequences of the recent storm and flood and lead the people to develop the socio-economy and strengthen social security to ensure the prosperity of the village, commune and district. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the leaders will build the district and commune to become advanced new rural areas.

“Our village has achieved the model of New Rural Area, so we will take another step to become an advanced model of New Rural Area and strive for the whole commune to have no poor households, no near-poor households, no dilapidated houses and for every family to be prosperous and happy. Culture and education will develop, the economy will become more and more sustainable...”, the Deputy Prime Minister expected.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc shared that the Government is currently directing that by 2025, all dilapidated and makeshift houses must be eliminated for all poor and near-poor households nationwide, about 400,000 houses. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have mobilized all businesses and people to contribute to the construction. On the budget side, the budget has been invested in provinces, districts, and communes, and 5% of the country's budget savings have been allocated to support and invest in eliminating dilapidated and makeshift houses nationwide.

The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that localities will always respond to the movement and strive first to eliminate dilapidated and makeshift houses of poor and near-poor households. At the same time, leaders will develop the socio-economy with a new mindset, with new, effective and sustainable ways of doing things.
