On the occasion of the traditional New Year of the nation - New Year of At Ty 2025, on the morning of January 16, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Gratitude to the Party" and "Trade Union Tet Market 2025"; visited, wished a happy new year, and gave gifts to families of meritorious people in Hai Phong.
The program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Gratitude to the Party" in 2025 is jointly organized by the Labor Federation, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City.
Implementing the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Hai Phong City Party Committee on the implementation of Tet celebrations for workers, with special attention to maximum support for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, the Hai Phong Labor Federation has directed all levels of the City's trade unions to effectively use union financial resources according to decentralization; mobilize employers, heads of agencies and units to join hands to take care of a full Tet for each cadre, civil servant, employee and worker in the unit and enterprise. The average Tet bonus for workers is 8.6 million VND/person.
It is expected that during the Lunar New Year 2025, Hai Phong will have over 350,000 union members and workers enjoying Tet care activities from the City's trade unions at all levels, units and enterprises with a total estimated budget of 2,600 billion VND.
Speaking at the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang", on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son sent his warmest regards and best wishes for the New Year to the leaders, workers, civil servants, employees and all the people of Hai Phong City.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that in 2024, despite facing many difficulties and great challenges, under the leadership of the Party and the direction of the Government, our country has achieved important results in socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and security, expanding foreign relations, creating a solid momentum for the country to enter 2025, towards completing the goals set by the 13th Party Congress.
Specifically, our country has achieved and exceeded all 15/15 main targets on socio-economic development set by the National Assembly, in which GDP growth reached 7.09%, among the top in the world; Vietnam's potential, position and international prestige in the international arena continue to be enhanced; foreign investors are very eager to cooperate and invest in Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated Hai Phong for achieving a GRDP growth rate of 11.01% in 2024 - the 10th consecutive year of maintaining a double-digit growth rate, among the leading groups in the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister also appreciated Hai Phong for paying great attention to caring for and supporting people with meritorious services, the poor, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances, with the joint efforts and contributions of both employers and philanthropists.
By the end of 2024, Hai Phong will have no more poor households according to the national poverty standards for the 2021-2025 period; over 20,000 meritorious people are receiving monthly preferential allowances.
Emphasizing that 2025 is of great significance, a year of "acceleration" to successfully implement the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that Hai Phong will continue to be a leading locality in socio-economic development; a center and growth pole in the Red River Delta; continue to be one of the attractive destinations for international investors, contributing to the common tasks of the country in 2025 and the following years.
Along with that, Hai Phong needs to continue to pay attention, be proactive, positive and creative in implementing support policies, ensuring welfare and social security for workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, so that people can feel secure in working and producing, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Party committees, authorities, and city organizations need to pay the highest attention to ensuring that every household and every citizen of Hai Phong has the conditions to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet, "no one is allowed to go without Tet," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the Central delegation presented 245 gifts to union members, workers in difficult circumstances, policy families, and poor households in Hai Phong city.
Immediately after the Program, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Be, 105 years old, with 4 children who are martyrs; 1/4 disabled soldier Le The Vi in Hai An district, Hai Phong city.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son kindly inquired about their health and expressed his deep gratitude for the great sacrifices and contributions of the two families to the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.
The Deputy Prime Minister respectfully wished mother Tran Thi Be and war invalid Le The Vi and their families good health, continued to promote revolutionary traditions, well implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and policies for future generations to learn and follow.
