Reporting to the Vice President and the working delegation on the local socio-economic situation, the leader of the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district said that Thuan Nam is a district located at the southern gateway of Ninh Thuan province, with a total population of over 57,600 people, of which ethnic minorities account for 26%.

The area has important national traffic axes running through it such as: National Highway 1A, North-South railway, expressway connecting to Ca Na general port; has a coastline of over 43km, with many beautiful beaches; has Ca Na deep-water port with a scale that can receive ships up to 300,000 tons, of which phase I with a scale of 100,000 tons has been completed and put into operation, associated with the planning to attract investment in Ca Na LNG power center phase I: 1,500MW, dry port and logistics service center, Ca Na Industrial Park... favorable for the development of the marine economy, especially attracting large-scale industrial, energy, tourism, and coastal urban projects, creating an important driving force for socio-economic development. Up to now, the whole district has 6/8 communes that have met new rural standards, of which 01 commune has met advanced new rural standards.

The poverty rate has decreased to 5.6%, near-poor households to 5.16%; average income per capita in 2023 will reach 40 million VND. The quality of education, health care, and cultural activities has developed quite comprehensively; policies for people with revolutionary contributions have been well implemented; periodically on anniversaries, holidays, and Tet, the District People's Committee has organized visits and gifts for policy families; on the occasion of the Giap Thin Lunar New Year alone, the district has mobilized over 3 billion VND in socialized resources to give 6,800 gifts to the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the visit and working session with Thuan Nam district, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her good feelings and impressions of the people and homeland of Ninh Thuan, which are resilient and indomitable in the resistance war and self-reliant in the cause of renovation and construction today. Congratulating the development achievements of the province in general and Thuan Nam district in particular, the Vice President requested the Party Committee and the government of Ninh Thuan province to constantly strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, promote the achievements, exploit the maximum potential and advantages to build an increasingly vibrant, modern and sustainably developing economy; take good care of the lives of ethnic minorities, mountainous areas, remote and isolated areas; improve and enhance the lives and incomes of the people; ensure social welfare and protection; build a clean and strong Party Committee and political system at all levels.

In the coming time, he requested the Provincial Police to continue directing the Police of units and localities to seriously grasp and well implement the motto of "being exemplary, taking the lead" in implementing the Party's resolutions, directives and conclusions on Party building and rectification and the political system, especially Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW dated March 16, 2022 of the 13th Politburo on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern People's Police force, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation. Proactively fight to defeat the plots and sabotage activities of hostile forces, avoid passivity and surprise; ensure cyber security, economic security, religious security, internal security and social security; absolutely protect the safety of key targets and important political events.

In the immediate future, it is necessary to concentrate all resources to absolutely ensure the safety of Party Congresses at all levels, the 15th Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress. Resolutely fight, fiercely attack, strongly suppress, strictly and lawfully handle crimes in association with reducing all types of crimes and law violations in society. Effectively carry out state management of social order, focusing on resolutely and effectively implementing tasks under Project 06 of the Government, contributing to accelerating the construction of e-government, digital citizens, digital society and administrative reform. Strengthen the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, fire prevention and fighting, rescue and relief; maintain stability in political security and social order and safety, well serving the tasks of socio-economic development and national defense and security in the locality.
