Hanoi Checking some points, the Radio Frequency Department discovered that remote opening devices for rolling doors and electronic billboards were causing interference and paralyzing smart locks.

On the afternoon of June 25, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Dong, Director of the Radio Frequency Center Region 1 (Radio Frequency Department, Ministry of Information and Communications), said that after receiving feedback from VnExpress , on June 24-25, this unit established two working groups to go to the locations for inspection.

In the area within a 70 meter radius in front of Thu Cuc International General Hospital at 286 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho district, the working group discovered a faulty remote door opening device for residential rolling doors, emitting continuous signals, causing interference to vehicles using smart keys and surrounding rolling doors.

At the Cellphone S store on Lac Long Quan Street, Tay Ho District, the working group discovered an LED electronic billboard with radiation on the frequency of 433.845 MHz, continuously causing interference on the frequency band for smart locks. Currently, Center I has handled the situation and the store has stopped operating the LED electronic billboard at the request of the management agency, Mr. Dong said.

On Bui Thi Xuan Street behind the Central Eye Hospital, Hai Ba Trung District, the working group did not detect any interference signals on the frequency band for radio remote control devices. According to residents, this location has no interference on Saturdays and Sundays, but it does on weekdays. The center will continue to monitor.

At the parking lot on Quang Trung Street and Trang Thi Street, Hoan Kiem District, the task force did not detect any interference signals. "People in the area reported that a few months ago there was interference that affected the smart locks of vehicles, but it is no longer the case," said Mr. Dong.

Previously on June 22, when stopping at the intersection between Nguyen An Ninh Street and Vong Street, Hai Ba Trung District, a series of car and motorbike drivers could not unlock the smart key to start the vehicle. The Radio Frequency Department used measuring equipment and discovered that the source of interference was a radio remote control device used to turn on and off the water pump at a household on Vong Street.

This device is of unknown origin, does not have a certificate of conformity; its emission quality does not meet the regulations on the frequency of 433.9 MHz, bandwidth of 37.5Khz. After turning off the device, the motorbikes and cars were able to open the smart lock.
