Recently, the Provincial Women's Union (VWU) issued a document directing all levels of the union to organize activities in response to the Vietnam Ao Dai Week in 2025 towards the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025), the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising; and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Accordingly, all levels of the Association, members, women, female civil servants, public employees, female union members, youth, female students wear Ao Dai on working days and school days in accordance with conditions, gathering simultaneously on March 8 to spread the image and value of Ao Dai in social life.
Union officials, members, female civil servants, public employees, and students practiced and performed folk dances to the music of the Spring Country Medley (including the songs "The Country is Full of Joy" and "Spring in Ho Chi Minh City", choreographed by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union). In addition, promoting the activities of the Ao Dai Week and folk dance performances on mass media and social media channels.
In addition, the Association at all levels continues to maintain and organize activities to implement the Program of Sharing and Honoring Vietnamese Ao Dai, and the 0-dong Ao Dai Booth, appropriately, depending on actual conditions, to widely propagate among cadres, members, and women of all walks of life to share, receive and wear traditional Ao Dai during activities, cultural and artistic activities, and participate in festivals... thereby actively preserving the national cultural identity and honoring the Vietnamese Ao Dai.
According to Ms. Kim Thi Minh - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, Ao Dai Week was initiated and launched by the Vietnam Women's Union in 2019; since then, Ao Dai Week has truly become a special highlight, an exciting activity attracting a large number of members and women of all walks of life in the province to participate in response every March.
This year, in addition to launching a response, the Provincial Women's Union will organize a folk dance performance in Ao Dai at the Provincial Heroes and Martyrs Memorial Square (Ninh Son Ward, Tay Ninh City) with the participation of 1,000 cadres, members, female civil servants, public employees and female students.
“Through these activities, the Association wishes to widely disseminate the history and value of Vietnamese Ao Dai to the community, contributing to inspiring and spreading meaningful and positive messages about national pride, love for the country, people and Vietnamese Ao Dai to the masses; thereby raising awareness and responsibility of everyone, especially cadres, union members, association members and women in preserving and promoting the national cultural heritage” - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said.
