Assign Mr. Tran Thanh Man to run the activities of the National Assembly

On May 2, the Secretary General of the National Assembly issued Notice No. 3568/TB-TTKQH informing the opinion of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the assignment of management of the activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly assigned Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly to direct the activities of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam until the position of Chairman of the 15th National Assembly is completed according to regulations.

Previously, after listening to the presentation of the Reports and opinions of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly discussed, voted by secret ballot and passed a Resolution to relieve Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approve the dismissal of the position of member of the National Defense and Security Council, and remove him from the duties of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly;

Mr. Tran Thanh Man was born in 1962 in Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province. He was a member of the Central Committee of the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th terms; Secretary of the Party Central Committee of the 12th term; member of the Politburo of the 13th term and a National Assembly delegate of the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man has held many positions in Can Tho such as: Vice Chairman, Chairman of the People's Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, before holding the position of Vice Chairman, then Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In April 2021, Mr. Tran Thanh Man was elected by the 14th National Assembly to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; was assigned to be Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Delegation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. In July 2021, at the first session of the 15th National Assembly, he was re-elected to the above position.
