At around 6pm, a passenger bus carrying 22 people was traveling on Khanh Le Pass, heading from Da Lat to Nha Trang. When it reached Bo Lang Village, Son Thai Commune, Khanh Vinh District, the driver noticed smoke coming from inside the bus and shouted for everyone to get out.
The driver and the people tried to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful. A few minutes later, the fire engulfed the entire car, with smoke billowing dozens of meters into the air. The heat of the fire forced many vehicles on the road to stop at a distance.
Rescue forces and specialized vehicles were dispatched to the scene to put out the fire. The fire did not cause any casualties, but burned the car, and the windshield was thrown onto the road. Many of the goods on the car were damaged by the fire. Traffic in the area was congested.
According to police, the car caught fire because while going downhill, the driver braked too much, causing sparks.
