Rice prices today, June 30, in the Mekong Delta region are stable for both paddy and rice. The rice market is slow, prices have decreased slightly.
The rice market in the Mekong Delta today is generally still low in supply, slow trading, and poor quality. Specifically, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice arrivals are low, rice quality has not improved, warehouse purchases are slow, rice prices fluctuate slightly, rice selection is careful. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), rice arrivals are low, prices have dropped slightly for good rice, new good rice has dropped by 100 VND. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), rice arrivals are quite good, trading is slow, rice quality is poor, few good lots, warehouse purchases are slow.
According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice prices are stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice is at 10,700 - 10,850 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice is at 12,600 - 12,900 VND/kg.
Similarly, there is no adjustment for by-products today compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 sheet is unchanged compared to yesterday at 9,100 - 9,300 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran remains stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg.
At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND30,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND18,000 - 20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice is VND20,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates around VND15,000 - 16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is VND20,000 - 21,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND20,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is VND21,000/kg; common white rice is VND17,000/kg; regular Soc rice is VND18,500/kg; Thai Soc rice is VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice is VND22,000/kg.

Regarding rice, in Dong Thap, prices stagnated at the end of the week, with not many new rice transactions. In Can Tho, transactions were stable, mainly cutting rice that had already been staked, with few new transactions. Specifically, according to the update of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates around 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,200 - 7,400 VND/kg; IR 504 is at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 is at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates around 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is at 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. The price of 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price of 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) and Long An sticky rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.
In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices have not been adjusted. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is stable at 468 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is currently at 569 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is stable at 544 USD/ton.

According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 6 months of this year, Vietnam sold 4.68 million tons of rice of all kinds, earning 2.98 billion USD. Compared to the same period in 2023, rice exports increased by only 10.4% in volume but increased sharply by 32% in value due to the high export price of this item.
In the first half of this year, rice ranked 5th in terms of export turnover in the agricultural sector (after wood and wood products, seafood, vegetables, and coffee), and was also one of the items recording a high growth rate.
The report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also stated that rice is in the Top 5 agricultural products with high trade surplus, reaching 2.31 billion USD, up 27% over the same period last year. Thus, in the first half of this year alone, our country had to spend about 670 million USD to import rice.
