Mentioning Mr. Giang A Vang in Nga Ba village, Muong Toong commune (Muong Nhe district), everyone in the area knows him. Because Mr. Vang is one of the typical examples of determination and economic development. He currently owns a garden - pond - barn (VAC) economic model with full livestock (buffalo, cow, pig, chicken...) and fruit trees; each year he earns nearly 200 million VND.

According to Mr. Vang, about 10 years ago, his family's living conditions were difficult, the house was makeshift, and there were few means of production, so life was very difficult. However, he did not accept poverty, so he broke through by boldly borrowing capital to do business. With more than 50 million VND and a little savings, he invested in digging a 2,000m2 fish pond. In addition, he also bought some more land from local people for cultivation, planting nearly 700 Thai mango trees; combined with raising livestock, poultry and protecting forests. Mr. Vang said that he was given the opportunity to borrow capital and participate in training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques. Up to now, he has mastered some necessary techniques to apply in practice, so his family's life is basically stable.

In Muong Lay Town, after the resettlement, the difficulty for farmers is the lack of land for production. However, thanks to appropriate development orientation, many farmers have changed their production thinking, exploiting the potential and advantages in the locality to improve their income and improve their quality of life. A typical example is the family of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dan, residential group 3, Song Da ward. Mr. Dan came to the livestock industry in 2015. From his accumulated capital, he initially bought 10 breeding cows to raise. After only 1 year, the herd gave birth to the first calf. Realizing that raising breeding cows is not too complicated but brings high economic efficiency, Mr. Dan regularly maintains a stable breeding herd of 12-15 cows. From the money from selling breeding cows, each year Mr. Dan's family earns a profit of over 100 million VND.

Mr. Dan shared: “In Muong Lay Town, all households are hard-working and diligent. In particular, taking advantage of the local potential and advantages, many households have made a breakthrough to become rich through many different models. Up to now, there are more and more good production and business models. In 2023 alone, our whole town has nearly 120 farming households registered to compete in good production and business.”

To motivate farmers to overcome difficulties and rise up, every year, the Provincial Farmers' Association regularly launches the movement of Farmers competing in production and good business. After many years of launching, up to now, the movement has developed widely to villages and hamlets, truly creating an important transformation in the restructuring of the agricultural and rural economy. Many farming households have been proactive, diligent, and persistent in overcoming all difficulties with the will of self-reliance and self-reliance. They also regularly change their awareness, invest in exploiting the potential of labor, land, and capital in production and expanding industries and services to create goods and products, promoting local advantages, and many diverse development models that bring economic efficiency, thereby helping themselves and their families to rise up and become rich legitimately.

Ms. Vang Thi Binh, President of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: One of the factors to build an increasingly strong association is the work of attracting, gathering and developing members. However, to develop and gather members, people's lives must be stable and the Association must be a reliable support for members. Therefore, every year, the Standing Committee of the Association at all levels has promoted propaganda for members and farmers to understand the meaning and role of the association; mobilized society and mobilized all resources to care for the material and spiritual life of members and farmers. In particular, implementing Decree 78/2002/ND-CP dated October 4, 2002 of the Government on credit for the poor and other policy subjects; the Provincial Farmers' Association has coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to create all conditions for farmer members to borrow capital to develop production. Through loans, many farmers have dared to think, dared to do, strived to overcome difficulties, and become rich by themselves. Every year, the whole province has over 1,000 farming households escape poverty and hundreds of households become well-off and rich... Not only that, many typical farmers in the movement of good production and business have been honored by the Central Association and awarded the title of Excellent Vietnamese Farmers, thereby contributing to improving the quality of the Association's activities as well as attracting members to participate.
