On the afternoon of August 21, at Tan Hoa I village, Tan Lam Huong commune, Thach Ha district, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association launched a campaign to collect pesticide bottles and packaging; set up signs and handed over the project to welcome the 10th Provincial Farmers' Association Congress, term 2023 - 2028.
In his opening speech, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Ngo Van Huynh emphasized: The campaign aims to call for the cooperation of all levels, sectors and especially all farmer members - those who directly contact and use pesticides to join hands to protect the environment through raising awareness and taking concrete actions with the message "For a safe, green, clean and sustainable living environment"; "Say no to pesticide bottles and packaging in the fields".
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Provincial Farmers' Association Standing Committee handed over the project "Model of farmer members collecting bottles and packaging of plant protection drugs in the field" to welcome the 10th Provincial Farmers' Association Congress, term 2023 - 2028. Accordingly, Tan Hoa I village received 30 plastic barrels and 60 cement barrels to implement the model.
During one session, a large number of cadres and farmers' union members of Tan Hoa I village gathered in the fields where there was a lot of waste and pesticide containers on the canals and ditches to collect and pick up all kinds of packaging and transport them to the garbage collection site for treatment according to regulations.
The campaign has created a great impact, transforming from awareness to action of each citizen. Gradually changing the habit of not abusing pesticides in production; focusing on collecting and treating pesticide bottles and packaging after use according to regulations. This is one of the practical activities to welcome the 10th Provincial Farmers' Association Congress, term 2023 - 2028.
