(CLO) On the afternoon of November 18, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee to organize the announcement ceremony of the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024.


Attending the press conference were journalist Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Le My Ai Linh, Acting Director of the Center for Culture and Journalism, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Pham Xuan Tai - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Bien Thanh Hai, Marketing Director of Sao Vang Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Corporation and reporters from press agencies in Hanoi.

This is an annual event organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, in response to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", and at the same time promote the sports training movement among journalists nationwide.

The tournament attracted the participation of many reporters, journalists, and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association from press agencies and associations at all levels across the country, with 14 competition categories. This is also a useful exchange playground, helping to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and connection between press agencies and the community.

At the announcement ceremony, Ms. Le My Ai Linh, Acting Director of the Center for Culture and Journalism, introduced the main contents and new points of this year's Tournament.

Accordingly, due to the conditions of the stadium, the competition time per day is shorter than last year, starting at 8am and ending at 5pm (with a lunch break), so the Organizing Committee has adjusted the regulations so that men and women can register for 3 competition events (compared to last year, women can register for 4 competition events). In addition, this year, to make the tournament more professional, the Organizing Committee has regulations on competition costumes in the regulations.

According to Ms. Le My Ai Linh: "This year the tournament is organized on a larger scale, more professionally, with a more modern stadium system and equipment. This year, sponsor Kamito equipped the final matches with a "Titanium" table, which has never been seen in previous seasons. Regarding the prize, this year, with the support of Savabeco, the prize has doubled. The total prize value is 238,000,000 VND, not including the secondary prize".

This year, the Organizing Committee also focuses on live communication and broadcasting on digital platforms so that fans and table tennis lovers can watch and cheer from afar. In addition to broadcasting live on Hanoi Radio & Television, it is also broadcast on Hanoi Radio & Television's digital infrastructure. In particular, the Organizing Committee also created a Fanpage to update information and images of delegations, athletes, competition schedules, interesting matches, etc. for easy follow-up.

Permanent Vice President of Hanoi Journalists Association Kieu Thanh Hung represented the delegations attending the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup.

According to the organizers, as of the afternoon of November 18, the tournament had recorded 193 athletes registered to participate. Of which, the Vietnam Television table tennis team sent the largest number of participants with 25 athletes...

Exchanging information at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Permanent Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the tournament organizing committee assessed: this is a sports playground that journalists who love table tennis across the country look forward to every year, over the years the organizing committee always wants to have innovations, improve the quality of the tournament. In addition to the previous regulations, this year there are new contents, first of all, it is held at a new and better location, the tournament name is partly changed to be associated with the tournament's accompanying unit.

Journalists and reporters from press agencies asked questions to the Organizing Committee of the Award.

Journalist Nguyen Duc Loi shared: "The 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024 is a grassroots sports playground, a sports tournament for journalists, where there is a noble sports spirit, the participants are journalist members, so I really hope that athletes and press agencies that participate in the tournament must absolutely comply with the rules and regulations of the tournament" .

On this occasion, the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association also hopes that press agencies will spend more time promoting the Tournament. So that the Tournament continues to be a useful playground, thereby encouraging and motivating the working spirit and creativity of members, thereby contributing to improving the quality of the Association's activities.

The 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024 will take place from December 1 to 3, 2024, at Cau Giay Stadium, 35 Tran Quy Kien, Hanoi.
