Tens of thousands of tourists flocked to Ha Long, Mong Cai, and Co To in the first two days of the holiday, bringing a vibrant atmosphere like before Covid-19.
On April 30 in Ha Long City , tens of thousands of people flocked to the International Passenger Port to buy tickets to visit the bay. Most of the visitors came in groups, lining up in long lines that filled the lobby.
According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, on April 29, there were more than 6,900 visitors to the bay. Other locations such as Bai Chay, Quang Ninh Museum, and Sun World Ha Long also welcomed a large number of visitors, helping Ha Long City reach more than 12,000 visitors on April 29. The following days are expected to be even more crowded, surpassing the number of visitors during the same period last year.

On Co To Island , in the past two days, 12,000 visitors have visited the island district's tourist attractions, an increase of 122% over the same period. To stimulate the 2023 tourist season, Co To District has implemented a series of solutions to ensure the tourism business environment such as tightening price listings, developing new tourism products such as recreational diving and coral viewing on Thanh Lan Island, said Mr. Nguyen Hai Linh, Head of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Mong Cai city is also a destination chosen by many tourists after the Ha Long - Mong Cai expressway was built at the end of last year. After the first two days of the holiday, Mong Cai city welcomed 80,000 visitors, concentrated at the international border gate, central market, walking street, food court, Sa Vi cape, Vinh Thuc island and Tra Co beach. Of these, more than 12,000 people entered the country and about 14,000 people exited the country through Mong Cai border gate.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Oanh, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Mong Cai City, the number of tourists during the two holidays increased by 80% compared to the entire April 30 holiday in 2022. The number of visitors increased but the city still met the needs of accommodation, entertainment and other related services for all types of tourists," Ms. Oanh said.

Not only entertainment areas, spiritual destinations also attract visitors. Of which, Yen Tu scenic relic site welcomed about 2,500 visitors, Ba Vang pagoda welcomed about 5,500 visitors, and Cua Ong temple welcomed about 827 visitors.
Quang Ninh province's tourism industry expects to reach about 430,000 arrivals during the 5-day holiday (from April 29 to May 3), an increase of 26% compared to 2022. To achieve the expected number, Quang Ninh province will organize a series of attractive events such as Ha Long Carnival on the evening of May 1, dance group festival, Tran Quoc Nghien Temple festival, kite flying festival, street music festival, folk dance performances...

Quang Ninh aims to attract at least 3.6 million tourists in the second quarter, with revenue of nearly VND8,000 billion, contributing to the expected annual target of about 15 million visitors.
