Madam Pang is running for the position of FAT President.

“I decided to run for the position of FAT President under the patronage of the Thai Royal Family for the next term.

We want to raise football to the level that fans expect. I will do my best to help Thai football succeed," said the female head of the Thai football delegation.

It is worth mentioning that in June 2023, Madam Pang affirmed that she would not run for the position of FAT President.

“After discussing with my family, I was advised to reconsider because I have been taking on too many roles lately.

So today I affirm that I only want to continue to be the head of the Thai team.

“I still want to be a team manager and be available when needed. I don’t think it’s necessary for me to run for the position of president of the football federation,” Madam Pang said in June 2023.

Therefore, the fact that the "powerful woman" of Thai football is running for the position of FAT President surprised many people.

According to this female billionaire, she wants to bring Thai football out of the crisis and aim for a ticket to the World Cup.

Currently, Madam Pang is receiving support from many leading figures in Thai football such as Newin Chidchob (Chairman of Buriram United), Khun Pavin Bhirombkhadi (Chairman of BG Pathum United).

In particular, FAT President Somyot Poompanmoung also suggested that the Thai female billionaire run for election.

"I was asked by Mr. Somyot to run for election. I want to see the success of Thai football.

That is why I decided to run for FAT President. I am ready to take on this job," Madam Pang continued.

In 2008, the 57-year-old businessman took over as Head of the Thai Women's Football Team and made great contributions to helping the country's women's team qualify for the World Cup twice.

From 2021, Madam Pang will take on the role of Head of the Thai Men's Football Delegation.

She contributed to helping the "War Elephants" return to the number one position in Southeast Asia when they were crowned AFF Cup 2021 and 2022 twice.
