Under the program, all Indonesian citizens will be entitled to a free health check-up on their birthday, although participation is not mandatory.

Screening programs include blood pressure checks, heart disease or stroke risk checks, and eye exams, to detect potential health problems early.

According to Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, in the first phase, the program focuses on children under 6 years old and adults aged 18 and above.

Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that the leading causes of death in the country are stroke, heart disease and tuberculosis.

Mr. Budi emphasized that the goal of this year's screening program is to check the health of 100 million people, promoting preventive health care. The program not only conducts physical health tests but also includes mental health checks to detect signs of depression or anxiety.
