Departing from Hanoi, many tourists wake up at 1-2am, travel to Thai Thuy district (Thai Binh) to visit the newly emerging "infinity sea" area and catch romantic moments at dawn.
About 120km from Hanoi, Quang Lang beach (Quang Lang village, Thuy Hai commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) has recently suddenly "emerged" as a new tourist destination attracting visitors to check-in. Quang Lang beach is located next to the mouth of the Diem Ho river - a small branch of the Red river. The characteristic of this place is the brown alluvial sandbank, which is flat and spreads out like a giant mirror reflecting the landscape and the sky. That's why many tourists named Quang Lang beach "infinity sea" and widely shared a series of beautiful moments here on online forums about tourism. Quang Lang Beach is quite close to Hanoi, has convenient roads and "pleasing" weather, so it is chosen by many tourists as a destination on September 2 (Photo: Truong Dinh Minh). From Hanoi, visitors can go by motorbike or car (private car or passenger car) to Diem Dien town (about 2km from Quang Lang beach). However, from this town, to reach the place to see the "infinity sea" at dawn, visitors have to travel a rather difficult distance from 3-4am. Mr. Le Thanh Ha (Haf Lee) - a local architect said that the road to Quang Lang beach is not far but quite difficult to travel. After walking the 500m long trail and parking his car, Mr. Ha followed the fishermen through the alluvial-rich protective forest to reach the sandy beach. "The first steps from the edge of the forest are quite slippery and muddy, then the sandy beach. Travel about 1-2km more to reach the best location to see the entire Quang Lang beach," Mr. Ha shared. Around 3-4am, when the water is low, Quang Lang beach is covered with a thin layer of water, up to the ankles, creating a scene like a giant mirror reflecting the sky and scenery (Photo: Haf Lee). To capture the sunrise moment on the "infinite sea", visitors should leave early to avoid the sky changing color (Photo: Truong Dinh Minh). Having been to Quang Lang beach many times, at different times, Mr. Ha realized that the sunrise in each season here has its own appeal. In summer, the golden sunlight and the wind blowing from the sea create tiny waves that follow each other, hitting the feet coolly. In autumn, the sunrise in this beach area has a beauty that blends pink and purple, creating a strangely warm feeling. According to Mr. Ha's experience, to visit the "infinite sea", visitors need to choose a day with little clouds and calm wind. Late summer and early autumn (from July to October) are the ideal times when the wind is light and the sunrise is beautiful. Because the tide rises in the evening, visitors can only visit the "infinity sea" at dawn (Photo: Truong Dinh Minh). In winter, Quang Lang beach has its own beauty but the weather is too cold, not favorable for sightseeing and taking pictures here. This is a pristine beach, not yet exploited and developed tourism services. However, coming to Quang Lang beach, in addition to sightseeing and checking in, visitors can also learn and participate in coastal fishing activities with local people. From dawn, many women have been at sea to catch cockles using a special tool made from a small steel rod, called a needle (Photo: Haf Lee). This is a manual fishing method to avoid the extinction of this snail species, while limiting the impact on the ecological balance (Photo: Haf Lee). The men here, in addition to sailing, also push the boats. This work is very hard, requiring the workers to be physically strong and have endurance. In deep water areas, the pushers also have to walk on stilts to pull the boats, creating an extremely vivid picture, attracting the attention of tourists. Depending on the tide, they often push the boats from midnight until early the next morning. "Te" is a traditional fishing tool made from two long bamboo poles, arranged in a V shape, and a net to catch shrimp and small fish in coastal waters. The te poles sometimes rise high, sometimes fall low, looking like sails filled with wind (Photo: Haf Lee). Truong Dinh Minh (in Hanoi) shared that while surfing the internet, he saw people posting footage and taking photos of the beautiful Quang Lang beach, so he decided to go to Thai Binh that night to witness the poetic scene at dawn here. Minh's group of 5 people departed from Hanoi by car on the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway at 10:30 p.m., and rested in the car for 2 hours upon arrival. At exactly 3:30 a.m., the group set off on foot deep into the beach. "The walking path is quite slippery, you need to prepare socks or boots to walk, if you have a hiking stick, it will be quite sturdy and a flashlight to light the way," Minh said. Visitors can bring a small table and chair to rest and create a poetic check-in photo angle at dawn (Photo: Truong Dinh Minh). The young man said that the best time to take pictures at the "infinity sea" is from 5-6am, when the dawn has just broken and the water surface appears like a giant mirror, reflecting everything. When coming to Quang Lang beach, visitors should pay attention to check the weather in advance, avoid high tide days. In addition, tourists should bring camping tables and chairs to "live virtual" and sit and watch the sunrise to avoid fatigue. "If you bring a lot of accessories and food, prepare an extra styrofoam box to store things, when the water is above the ankles, you can pull and push it, and when taking pictures, it is also convenient to store things without fear of getting wet," the young man shared. Visitors should bring hats, long-sleeved shirts and drinking water, because when they finish taking pictures and start moving back to shore, the sun is high and the weather is very hot (Photo: Truong Dinh Minh). The "infinity sea" area is still quite wild, not exploited and developed for tourism activities, so visitors coming here can combine visiting Quang Lang fishing port or stopping by the seafood market to buy fresh seafood. Regarding cuisine, visitors can enjoy some delicious dishes in Diem Dien (near the "infinity sea") such as eel salad, jellyfish salad, salted jellyfish, etc. In addition, in Thai Binh there are also some other destinations that attract visitors such as Dong Chau beach with its "specialty" clam guardhouse, Con Vanh beach with a long and steep sandy beach, suitable for swimming.
