Recently, the Russian military has carried out a series of attacks. According to SF , between May 4 and May 13, Russian news sources shared videos of 15 attacks by Russian Lancet drones. The targets were Ukrainian military equipment in the area of special military operations.

The precision strikes destroyed or damaged military equipment including: five Soviet-made 2S1 Gvozdika 122 mm self-propelled guns, three US-made M777 guns, two US-made M109 self-propelled guns, one Soviet-made 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled gun, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled gun, one Soviet-made T-64 main battle tank, one Soviet-made BMP-2 combat vehicle, and one British-made Stormer HVM short-range air defense system.

Russian Lancet drones have been used effectively in the area of special military operations.

The Lancet suicide drone was developed by ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of the Kalashnikov Concern. The company produces two versions of the Lancet: the Izdeliye-52, which has an endurance of 30 minutes and a 1 kg warhead. The larger Izdeliye-51 has an endurance of 40 minutes and is equipped with a 3 kg warhead.

The Lancet drone will fly towards the designated area using an inertial system with support from GLONASS. Once there, the operator uses an electro-optical system to detect, track and lock on to the target. A laser rangefinder system will then control the detonation of the warhead.

The Lancet drone’s small radar cross-section and minimal infrared signature make it difficult to intercept. According to Lostarmour.info, a website that tracks and records military losses, there have been at least 254 Lancet attacks since Russia began its special operations campaign in Ukraine.
